From book, song to event …Okyeame Kwame to thrill patrons at Love Locked Down tonight

• Okyeame Kwame and wife Annica
One of Ghana’s decorated rappers, Okyeame Kwame, is set to thrill couples tonight at ‘Love Locked Down’ show slated for +233 Jazz Bar & Grill, Accra.
The ‘Love Locked Down’, started as a book by Okyeame Kwame and his wife Annica, in which they shared their experiences as a couple during the COVID-19 lockdown, and it was later expressed in a song, which has now become an event.
The event aimed at rekindling relationships in the month of love would feature Cina Soul, Afriyie, MzVee, Twicy, and some mixes on the turntable from renowned Disc Jockey, Andy Dosty.
Speaking to The Spectator, Okyeame Kwame said, “It was a book I wrote with my wife and published last year, and we decided to turn it into an event based on the success, to create something softer and of entertainment appeal.”
He revealed that there would be book reading, a segment for some celebrity couples to share their relationship experiences, a poetry recital, and comedy mixed with music.
Okyeame Kwame said the move is also aimed at extending the reach of their book, “Love Locked Down,” and it would be an annual event, which would be taken to other parts of the country and the world at large.
The ‘Rap Dacta’ said there would also be university tours to send the message of love to the doorstep of those who need it.

He stressed that being married for 14 years, he could say on authority that married couples don’t go out, due to children and work.
According to him, this makes them forget the things they used to do before they got married, an experience they are bringing back to help inspire and refresh relationships.
The award-winning musician said this would also serve as a platform for people who are afraid to fall in love to see all these beautiful couples married for such a long time, for inspiration that they can also do it.
He said in the future, Love Locked Down would become a website for those who are broken-hearted among others who are in search of things about love to go for free help.
