No need for gospel musicians to compete among themselves -Kofi Owusu Peprah

Gospel musician, Kofi Owusu Peprah has admonished his fellow musicians in the gospel fraternity not to be competing among themselves.

According to him, their core duty hinged on “telling the Good News” to the people through music and not competition.

“As gospel musicians we need to try to turn a blind eye to competition because we are on the same mission of the great commission, at the end of they day, we carry one message, that is the message of Jesus Christ,” he said.

Speaking to The Spectator in an interview, he said, instead of the competition, they should be encouraged by the work of others to improve on their gift and way of doing things in the area of production, videos, presentation among others.

“For me instead of the competition, there should be people we look up to, to encourage us in ministry as role models. What should be of much concern is how we touch and impact lives through our songs to win souls for Christ,” he said.

In a quest to crossover to other continents with gospel music, Owusu Peprah said “we in the gospel music industry need to study a lot when it comes to distribution  of songs and music business.”

He added that it takes more than just a talented musician to get your songs go viral, indicating that one needed to be deliberate about it and said, he was working hard to get his music crossover to other parts of the world to be able to touch lives.

KOP further revealed plans to release his much awaited ‘Father’s Gift’ album as he had released three singles dubbed Ma Twen, Big God and Amen.
