New Life Pentecostal Church to construct Rehab Centre at Ziavi-Lume
The New Light Pentecostal Church at Ziavi-Lume in the Ho Municipality has embarked on a vigorous project to build a 100-bed rehabilitation centre for drug addicts and other mental patients.
Pursuant to that, the chapel in the community is undergoing re-reconstruction alongside a five-bedroom mission house for the resident pastor.
Meanwhile, plans are far advanced to put up a three-storey residential facility in the church’s prayer garden for visitors.
A member of the executive council of the church, Lawyer John-Mark Nuku Alifo, who conducted the Spectator round the site on Tuesday, said that the GH¢1million project would be completed in three years.
This was prior to the merger of the church and the Shalom Prayer City at Ziavi-Lume last Saturday.
“We will engage the services of health experts and link up with the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) to implement the rehabilitation programme,” he added.
According to him, the New Light Pentecostal Church was also poised to embark on a vigorous sanitation campaign to promote the culture of cleanliness in Ziavi and far beyond.
Lawyer Alifo said that the prayer centre’s future development plans included the construction of a sterling basic school.
“We believe in evangelism with development,” he told The Spectator.
The Shalom Prayer City was founded at Ziavi-Lume in 1981 by the late Reverend G.K. Alifo who died in 1995.
“With the incorporation of the prayer centre into the New Life Pentecostal Church, we are set for greater spiritual, physical and human development,” said Lawyer Alifo, said.
