Forgo ‘beefs’, focus on evangelism- Akua Emelia tells gospel musicians.

Published

Gospel music dynamo, Akua Emelia has advised fellow artistes to learn to be patient and refrain from attacking one another, in what is described as “beefs” in music circles, for it does not speak well of the ministry.

Rather she counselled her fellow gospel musicians to channel their energies into evangelism to win more souls for Christ through music ministry.

According to the “Famesie” hit maker, small quarels and responding to everything you hear about yourself as a gospel artiste makes people doubt their calling.

Recently, there had been some wrangle between Gospel music heavyweight, Sonnie Badu, and broadcaster, who doubles as a gospel minister, Kwame OB Nartey, over lack of support in the industry.

Speaking to The Spectator, Akua Emelia noted that she gets worried anytime gospel musician are seen fighting each other, in what is described in the music circles as beef.

For her, this is the preserve of secular artistes and must not be entertained by her colleagues, for it brings the name of the Kingdom into disrepute  and ridicule.

She called on gospel musicians to humble themselves for God to lift them, and desist from doing everything for fame.

Following this, she commended Joe Mettle for his patience, and  not responding to fellow gospel musician,Patience Nyarko in her recent outburst, which made her call his(Joe Mettle) brand to question.

For her, what Joe Mettle exhibited is a trait every gospel artistes should emulate.

Akua Emelia further counselled Brother Sammy to desist from his ways, and work on his temperament, which drags the kingdom into disrepute and mockery.

According to her, some of the things exhibited by brother Sammy does not auger well for the ministry. For her, every gospel musician must leave an exemplary life for others to emulate and get close to God.

She also called on churches and other events firms to ensure gospel musicians were well remunerated to boost the work of God.
