NPP’s Alhaji Masawudu content with peaceful nature of Akwatia elections

The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, also known as Chairman Buga Buga, has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the Akwatia by-election.
On Tuesday, he praised the calm atmosphere in the constituency, thanking God, security officers, and stakeholders for ensuring order.
He observed that people were moving about freely and monitoring the process without fear.
He stressed that the NPP’s prayer was for the election to end as peacefully as it began, adding that the party was hopeful its candidate, Solomon Asumadu, would emerge as winner.

Police arrest Kwame Baffoe for offensive conduct

The Ghana Police Service has on Monday, September 8, 2025, arrested Mr. Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, for offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.
Police said in a statement that Mr. Baffoe was picked up earlier in the day and is currently in custody.
He is expected to be put before court in the coming days.
Details of the incident leading to his arrest have not yet been disclosed, but the Police assured the public that due process will be followed.

President Mahama to hold first media encounter of his second term

President John Dramani Mahama will host a Presidential Media Encounter on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
The event is scheduled to place at The Presidency at 8:00pm.
The encounter will provide a unique platform for President Mahama to engage the Ghanaian people through the media, on pressing national issues, his Resetting Ghana Agenda, policies and ongoing projects
It will also offer an opportunity for journalists to pose questions directly to the President on a wide
range of subjects affecting the nation.
