‘Books and lyrics, a project aimed to bring together book and song writers, producers and students to provide a holistic educational experience to bridge the gap between music and literature, has been launched in Accra.

The project seeks to foster deeper understanding of both art forms by empowering young people through the exploration of great musicians and literary works.

Launching the project, the initiator and Chief Executive Officer for Aim Ghana Foundation, Ms Gladys Biney, said the project aspired to equip students with skills that would serve them beyond the classroom, nurturing their intellectual, emotional and creative growth.

She said, often times most people did not understand or pay attention to the lyrics of a song and tends to interpret them wrongly.

Ms Biney said the project would not only focus on music but to raise funds to support less privileged but brilliant and talented in the society.

“There are some upcoming artists who do not have managers or supporters to achieve their dream but are brilliant. The project has come to empower, educate and support brilliant minds in the industry,” she stated.

She called on individuals and organisations to support the initiative to help project music and educate masses on the importance of lyrics.

Ghanaian highlife musician and songwriter, Joseph Nkrumah Buabeng, popularly known as Nero X said the initiative would help musicians write good lyrics that would educate the masses.

He pledged his support towards the successful implementation of the project.

The Registrar of Knutsford University College, Mr Frank Adjei-Nterko, a partner to the project underscored the need for students to cultivate the habit of reading and do away with social media that would not bring meaning into their lives.

The 73rd Miss World festival is bringing together contestants from across the globe to compete not only in beauty, but also in talent, sports, and the pageant’s “Beauty With A Purpose” humanitarian project.
