Man catches massive cobra with bare hands

A dramatic video from Thailand captured the moment a volunteer worker caught a huge king cobra with his bare hands.
According to news website Thaiger, locals in the southern Thai province of Krabi informed authorities after the snake slithered into a palm plantation and tried to hide in a septic tank.
The giant cobra reportedly measured 4.5 metres (nearly 14 feet) and weighed over 10 kilograms. It took Sutee Naewhaad, a volunteer with a Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, nearly 20 minutes to capture the snake.
Mr Naewhaad, 40, first lured the snake out onto an open road and then proceeded to begin his attempt at catching it.
The video shared on Facebook displayed the king cobra resisting all attempts to be captured. At one point, the snake lunged forward with its jaw open, but Mr Naewhaad managed to move out of its way.
According to local reports, the snake catcher said that the king cobra was safely released in its natural habitat after being caught. He said that the snake had probably been looking for its mate, as another cobra had recently been killed by locals.
Mr Naewhaad cautioned others against trying to catch snakes, saying that his skills came with years of training. – ndtv.com

British man becomes world’s oldest wing walker at 98

A 98-year-old British World War II veteran, Harry Heasman officially became the world’s oldest wing walker when he stood atop a flying plane in England.
He spent more than 9 minutes atop the plane at a height of over 1,000 feet on Saturday at Duxford Airfield in Cambridge.
A Guinness World Records adjudicator was on hand to officially certify Heasman as the world’s oldest wing walker.
“I have dreamed of doing this since I was a young child and to finally live that dream at 98 years old and to be a Guinness World Records title holder is beyond anything I could have ever imagined,” Heasman told Guinness World Records.
The nonagenarian said he spent 11 months working with a physical trainer to get his body and mind ready for the attempt.
His record attempt raised money for the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund and served as a tribute to his wife and son, who both died after battles with cancer.
“Harry is proof that it is never too late to chase a dream. At 98 years old, what he has achieved is nothing short of extraordinary. Over the last few months, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know him and seeing the determination behind this challenge,” said Lindsey Bidwell, a representative from the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund.
