Exquisite designs …patrons ‘rock’ at 2nd Slit and Kaba Festival

Patrons of the second edition of the much-awaited Slit and Kaba Festival last Wednesday at the Legon City Mall in Accra defied the rains to ‘rock’ exquisite designs showcasing rich Ghanaian culture.
The highly patronised event saw the old, middle age and the young showcase various styles of the traditional Slit and Kaba outfits predominantly made of colourful African prints.
The event also served as an opportunity for people to network and share ideas while vendors of made-in-Ghana products showcased their goods and services.
Speaking to The Spectator after the event, the Founder of Roots Africa, organisers of the event, Mrs Deborah Kabutey-Djisah aka ManyeKorngo, said she was delighted to host another successful event despite early showers.
“The event which was supposed to start at 9am, began after 1pm because of the rains, but surprisingly, Ghanaians showed up and filled the venue to capacity,” she stated.
She added that, “this is our own way of promoting Ghanaian culture through fashion and to ensure that the rich Slit and Kaba is maintained.”
She disclosed that, they were looking forward to a bigger event next year and expressed appreciation to patrons, sponsors and her team for their commitment and dedication.
She hinted, a couple’s edition next year following the interest shown by men for the past two years.
