Rain Foundations launches Silver Jubilee

The Rain Foundation launched its Silver Jubilee Anniversary last Sunday at the Dreamer’s Hub located at North Legon, in Accra.
Also known as Rain Foundations, the international mission-based organisation boasts of 25 years of Impacting thousands of people the across the world through events, mentorship, charity, books, and outreach programmes.

Taking their turns to address the guests on the achievements of the organisation, and plans for the anniversary celebration, George Kingsley Acquah ESQ, Global President of the Foundation and a law lecturer hinted that the organisation had a rich package of programmes, projects and products for their nine-month anniversary celebration.
Madam Gifty Selasie, President of Rain Worldwide Actualisation Project and a Consular Officer at the Norwegian Embassy also outlined plans to achieve international win-win partnerships.
Squadron Leader Ben Appau, leader of one of the organisation’s networks (AURA) revealed that the founding President of Rain, Raphaelle Antwi – a celebrated author of 58 books, had a special project to mentor, brand and publish 25 new writers this year as part of the anniversary celebrations.
A delegation of the ’94 Year Group of Achimota Basic School was also present to honour the occasion and to celebrate with the founding President of Rain who is an old student of the school.
The President of the group, Mr. Nana Agyei Blackie commended Author Ralph Antwi for his good works and assured the audience of their continuous support.

Two arrested over robbery attack on Berekum Chelsea team

The Police have arrested two suspects, including the alleged gang leader, in connection with the robbery attack on the Berekum Chelsea football team that resulted in the death of one of the players.
According to a Police update, the arrests were made after intelligence-led operations by security personnel.
One of the suspects sustained gunshot wounds during an exchange of fire with the police.
He has since been taken to a hospital where he is receiving medical treatment, while the other suspect remains in police custody assisting with investigations.
The Police indicated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang linked to the attack.
They assured the public that more details will be provided as investigations progress.

Mahama arrives in Brazzaville for Congo president’s investiture

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Brazzaville to attend the investiture ceremony of Denis Sassou N’Guesso.
The ceremony follows the re-election of President Sassou N’Guesso for another five year term as leader of the Republic of the Congo.
President Mahama travelled to Brazzaville shortly after launching his Free Primary Healthcare Programme in Dodowa.
He is expected to return to Accra after the ceremony scheduled for Thursday morning.
