Award-winning young Ghanaian poet, Nakeeyat Dramani has been named Ambassador for CorpNation Foundation’s 4R+ Initiative.
4R+ Initiative is a solid waste management initiative that promotes the reduction of waste generation and encourages recycling, reusing and recovery of waste.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 13.
Speaking to Thespectatoronline.com, during the unveiling ceremony held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of 4R+ Initiative, Saviour Adzika said all of these are tied to a sustainability element to ensure a safer society.
He said as part of the component of the project, there would be tree planting, student clubs, environmental quizes and award schemes to ensure people are interested in things regarding the environment.
According to him, it has taken his outfit, CorpNation Foundation four years since they rolled out this initiative in Takoradi.
Introducing the Ambassador for the initiative, Nana Kwesi Coomson, Public Relations Manager, said Nakeeyat represents the future.
Mr. Coomson noted that the reason for settling on Nakeeyat was that the project goes beyond the present generation, adding that it was to ensure the younger ones are exposed to the dangers of poor waste management.
Nakeeyat on her part expressed her appreciation for the acknowledgement of CorpNation and called on all and sundry to get involved in the initiative.
She charged Ghanaians to be activists for the protection of the environment which would go a long way to save lives.
According to her, it has become a global concern over the years with a significant impact on lives and properties.

Christians have been urged to demonstrate a living faith in Jesus Christ by allowing their confession of Him as Lord and Saviour to reflect in their daily lives.
According to the Kaneshie District Pastor of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG), Rev. Dzidzor Nathaniel Affram, a genuine Christian’s confession should go beyond words and be demonstrated through obedience to God, love for others and service to the Church.
He made the call at the 40th anniversary remembrance service for the late Wesley Kwasi Kwadzo at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Maranatha Congregation at Awudome Avenui in the Volta Region.
Speaking on the theme, “The Church Built on a Living Confession,” Rev. Affram said life would continually present challenges capable of testing Christians’ faith, making it necessary for believers to hold firmly to their confession that Jesus Christ is Lord.
He explained that accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour required Christians to live according to His teachings, stressing that their faith must be evident in their conduct.
“A living confession listens to God and not man,” he said, urging Christians to remain obedient to God even when faced with difficulties and pressures.
Rev. Affram further encouraged the congregation to care for vulnerable people and demonstrate concern for others, adding that such acts were practical expressions of Christian faith.
He also urged Christians to identify and use their God-given gifts to build the Church.
He said every member of the Church had a role to play and cautioned Christians against looking down on others because of their status or abilities.
The remembrance service brought together family members, friends, members of the congregation and sympathisers to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the late Wesley Kwasi Kwadzo.
