My emotions got the better part of me –KK Fosu
Ghanaian highlife musician, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu, affectionately called KK Fosu has expressed regrets over insensitive comments passed about late Blogger, John Claude Tamakloe.
John Claude Tamakloe who was travelling in the company of KK Fosu, and K Bless lost his life after they were involved in an accident on the Accra-Apam road on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
KK Fosu and K Bless, who were accused of being ingrate for failing to attend the funeral of John Claude, expressed their dissatisfaction about the tag.
Incensed by the public backlash, KK Fosu belligerently fired back at critics, which led to the passing of some comments described as insensitive and self-centred.
Against this backdrop, the musician has rendered an unqualified apology to John Claud’s family and Ghanaians.
His statement noted “I want to take this opportunity to directly address the recent events and the public backlash regarding my absence from the funeral of the late Jean Claude Tamakloe, who tragically passed away in the recent Accra-Apam highway accident.”
“First and foremost, I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. This loss is deeply felt, and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time,” he added.
Additionally, he tried to clarify some misunderstandings that had arisen, adding that his team intended to attend the one-week observation of the deceased, however, they learnt that “the family was unhappy with me because they believed their son was travelling with me at the time of the accident.”
Although they were in the same car, that was the first time he saw him or talked to him, adding that this misinformation has caused further pain, and regretted any distress this had caused the family.
“Earlier today, I was interviewed by Hitz FM’s Deejay Slim, and during the interview, I became overwhelmed with emotions explained that my absence from the funeral was due to two main reasons: the deceased was not personally known to me, and I am still in the process of recuperating from the injuries I sustained in the accident,” he revealed.
According to him, his caregivers have advised against travel and attending public gatherings as part of my recovery process.
“Unfortunately, my emotions got the better of me, leading to an outburst that I deeply regret. This outburst was fueled by my feeling that people were not truly concerned about my state of health,” he said.
‘I understand that my reaction was inappropriate, and I am sincerely sorry for any hurt or distress it caused. I am committed to reaching out personally to the family of the deceased to offer my condolences and support,” he said.
He further urged the Ghana Police to expedite investigations into the unfortunate accident so all parties would be appeased amicably.
“I hope we can all find a way to heal and move forward together during this challenging time. Thank you for your understanding, support and patience,” the statement concluded.

Organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards 27 have announced “A Touch of Glitter as the official red carpet theme for this year’s ceremony.’’
In a statement issued on Thursday, April 16, Charterhouse indicated that the theme is designed to promote elegance and creativity while maintaining a refined fashion standard.
According to the organisers, the red carpet remains one of the most anticipated moments of the awards, offering artistes, celebrities, and guests the opportunity to express themselves through fashion while celebrating Ghanaian identity.
They explained that for this year’s edition, attendees are encouraged to include subtle elements of shimmer in their outfits.
This, they noted, can be done through fabric choices, embellishments, or accessories, with the focus on elegance rather than excess.
The statement added that the red carpet event will take place on May 9, 2026, at 7:06 pm, ahead of the main awards ceremony.
Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse, Robert Klah, noted that the theme invites guests to explore creativity with sophistication while maintaining a polished appearance.
The organisers further assured that the event will continue to deliver a blend of music, fashion, and culture, making it a key highlight on Ghana’s entertainment calendar.

The fourth edition of the fast-rising fashion and cultural event, the Slit and Kaba Festival, is set to take place on May 1 at the Legon City Mall in Accra.
Organised by Roots Africa, the festival aims to promote Ghanaian culture through the traditional Kaba and Slit outfit, known for its vibrant African prints and unique designs.
Speaking to The Spectator Agoro ahead of this year’s edition, dubbed “Old School Kaba and Slit Meets Batakari,” the Founder of Roots Africa, Mrs. Deborah Kabutey-Djisah, popularly known as Manye Korngo, said the event has gained significant popularity over the years and promised an even bigger experience this time around.
“The intention is to revive old-school fashion while celebrating our revered Fugu, also known as Batakari, which has gained massive exposure in recent times,” she stated.
“It is also an opportunity to showcase our culture and demonstrate to young people how fashion has evolved over the years,” she added.
She further called on vendors to come on board to display their products and services, noting that thousands of patrons are expected to attend the event.
“Don’t miss the chance to have your brand featured on our flyers, make incredible sales, and be part of an unforgettable experience,” she urged.
According to her, the previous edition was a great success, attracting patrons from across the country. Due to the growing interest, a larger venue had to be secured to accommodate the anticipated crowd.
“I’m expecting ten times more people than we had at last year’s festival,” she added.
