Father accuses pastor of breaking son’s marriage

Published

on

The Scripture tells us that marriage is an intimate and complementing union between a man and a woman in which the two become one.

For the Bible says “What God has joined together, let not man put asunder.” But Mr. Peter Kofi Appiah-Mensah, a retired Civil Servant and a resident of Koforidua is blaming a famous Pastor at Kasoa (name withheld) for breaking his (Mr Appiah-Mensah’s) son’s marriage.

This worried man has accused the pastor of planting bad pieces of advice in the minds of his daughter-in-law leading to a divorce.

According to him the said pastor advised the married woman, who fellowships in his church, to remove her wedding rings if only she would want to remain a member of the church.

Mr. Appiah-Mensah said that without any consultations with the family of her husband, his son’s wife obeyed the pastor’s instructions and removed the wedding rings.

“What pains me is that I bought the two wedding rings at the cost of GH¢ 1,400.00 in 2012 for my daughter-in-law, among other items, as part of my contribution towards their wedding.

“But she removed them recently and when the husband asked the reason for the removal, she told him that her pastor told her to remove them,” he said.

Mr. Appiah-Mensah said that the family member, as devout Christians, could not countenance the conduct of the lady who had children with his son and, therefore, was left with no alternative but to dissolve the marriage about four months ago.

He said that some of these pastors were rather “charlatan parading as Men of God and destroying people’s marriages on the bogus premise that they have had revelations from God.”
