Ghanaian gospel musician, Empress Gify has slapped Evangelist Patricia Asiedu affectionately called Nana Agradaa with GH₵20 million defamatoon.The writ of summons intercepted by spectator.com.gh , Empress Gifty is demanding GH₵20 million from the self-styled Evangelist.
The writ by the Plaintiff Empress Gifty reveals that on 13th May 2025 the Defendant (Nana Agradaa) who seems to have a disagreement with the Plaintiff’s husband (Hopeson Adorye) took to her social media handles (Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube) and in a live broadcast and attacked the Plaintiff’s husband.
She further spoke the following words defamatory of the Plaintiff in Twi language with its respective English translation stated below:
Twi: “wo tuutuuni yere no mpo wo bu no, wo yere odwamanfoo no mpo wo bu no, nkraman ne wo yere da tafri wo yere twe mu di sika bre wo.”
English: “You even respect your promiscuous wife, you respect even that wife of yours who is a prostitute, your wife flirts with dogs, dogs lick your wife’s vagina, that is how she makes money to cater for you.”
Twi: “osofoo biara a, obeto nsa afro wo yere ako alter, ne no da wo Office ha ansa na w’aba abeto dwom wo asenka agua so.”
English: “pastors who invite your Twi: “Woyere no, oyefo sene obiara, adwaman nti Asofoo ne no de da. wo agyae no, rebetaetae me.”
English: “You left your cheap prostitute wife that have sexual intercourse with pastors, to attack me.”
Twi: “Wo nkwaseasem no a, wode lea wo yere kwasea no so no, Me nnye toy te se wo yere no, me nnyi me hwene te se wo yere, Wo yere no a, ne twe adane asofoo no bi chop bar bowl.” to sing have sexual intercourse with her in their offices before she mounts the pulpit to sing.
Twi: “Woyere no, oyefo sene obiara, adwaman nti Asofoo ne no de da. wo agyae no, rebetaetae me.”
English: “You left your cheap prostitute wife that have sexual intercourse with pastors, to attack me.”
Twi: “Wo nkwaseasem no a, wode lea wo yere kwasea no so no, Me nnye toy te se wo yere no, me nnyi me hwene te se wo yere, Wo yere no a, ne twe adane asofoo no bi chop bar bowl.”
English: “I’m not a toy like your wife, I have not repositioned my nose like your wife, do not extend the foolish things you do to her to me Your wife’s vagina has become a common eating bowl for some pastors.”
Additionally, the writ further indicates that “in their natural and ordinary meaning the words complained of in paragraph 9 were understood to mean that:
a) The Plaintiff is promiscuous and a prostitute.
b) The Plaintiff is a zoophile, who flirts with dogs to earn her money to cater for her husband.
c) The Plaintiff is an adulterous or an unchaste wife who has extra marital affairs, with other men and that most of her paramours are pastors.
d) Pastors who invite the Plaintiff to their programs have sexual inter course with her in their offices before Plaintiff mounts the pulpit to sing.
e) The Plaintiff is an imbecile.
Empress Gifty (the Plaintiff) also avers that the live broadcast made by the Defendant afforded other social media bloggers the opportunity to take the feed to their followers contemporaneously.”
The reigning Traditional Gospel Song of the year winner, Empress Gifty says the defamatory words spoken and published by the Nana Agradaa of her, is on the internet worldwide, and being widely circulated on various news portals and social media platforms in which the Plaintiff continue to be on the receiving end of severe and disdainful backlash.
She further indicates that the widespread effect of the Defendant’s words on the Plaintiff is that she has become the subject of discussion on media outlets locally and internationally and has affected her children who are taunted and ridiculed by their mates in school.
The lawyers say as a result of Nana Agradaa’s actions, the credit and reputation of Empress Gifty, both personal and public have seriously been damaged and have brought same into public ridicule, scandal, odium and contempt.
They also highlight that the Plaintiff who is a brand ambassador to numerous companies as indicated has suffered collateral damage.
Consequently, Empress’s lawyers aver that her international programme slated for August 2025 has been affected due to the words uttered by Nana Agradaa about her.
As a result of this, Empress Gifty is claiming against the defendant the sum of Twenty Million Ghana Cedis (GHS20,000,000.00) for damages for slander and libel of Plaintiff by the Defendant.
She is also requesting for an order of perpetual injunction to restrain the Defendant, her servants, agents, privies, assigns howsoever from publication of such words or any of them or similar words to that effect.
The Empress Gifty also wants an order for the Defendant to pull down all the videos, audios in which she spoke the words defamatory of the Plaintiff from all her social media handles.
Residents of Brodi, a farming community in the Tain District of the Bono Region, have been left in shock and mourning following the alleged murder of a 45-year-old woman by her husband, who later died by suicide.
According to information gathered by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the suspect, popularly known as Kwabena Jack, believed to be in his 50s, allegedly attacked and killed his wife, Abena Donkor, while the couple were working on their farm on Monday, August 11, 2026.
Mr Kingsley Obah, Assembly Member for the Brodi Electoral Area, confirmed the incident to the GNA.
He explained that after news of the woman’s death spread through the community, residents launched a search for the suspect. His lifeless body was later discovered in a nearby bush on Tuesday, August 12, 2026.
Police have since conveyed both bodies to the Tain District Government Hospital, where they have been deposited for preservation and autopsy.

Hawkers and roaming preachers have taken over the five-metre high Madina REDCO footbridge and adjoining streets, making it increasingly difficult for pedestrians to use the facility intended to promote safe road crossing.
The traders have virtually turned sections of the footbridge into a marketplace, displaying their wares on the floor using jute sacks, plastic sheets and metal trays, while others have occupied both sides of the walkway with their merchandise.
Foodstuffs such as okro, garden eggs, pepper, onions, dried fish, smoked fish, grains, spices and other groceries are openly sold on the footbridge and along the roadside, forcing pedestrians to weave through the crowded path.
Clothing and fashion accessories including slippers, brassieres, panties, socks, bags and other household items are also displayed for sale, leaving only limited space for commuters to use.
The situation is worsened by the presence of itinerant preachers who position themselves on the footbridge with public address systems to evangelise, drawing crowds to further obstruct pedestrian movement.
Head porters are also seen crossing the highway through the median while carrying heavy loads instead of using the footbridge, exposing themselves to the danger of being knocked down by speeding vehicles.
Also, portions of the footbridge are showing signs of deterioration. Several metal railings are rusted, bent and loosely secured with pieces of wire, raising concerns about the safety of users, especially children, the elderly and persons with disabilities.
Sections of the concrete surface are worn and chipped, while makeshift wooden supports attached to parts of the structure suggest temporary repairs.
After a visit by The Spectator last week, it emerged that many commuters preferred crossing the busy Madina Highway instead of using the footbridge because of the congestion created by the trading and preaching activities.
For years, successive attempts by the police, the military and the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly to address congestion around the REDCO and Zongo Junction enclave have yielded little success, with the area becoming notorious for roadside trading, indiscriminate parking and pedestrians refusing to use the footbridge.
A pedestrian, who gave her name only as Maame Yaa, described the situation as worrying, saying the footbridge, which was constructed to protect lives, had gradually lost its purpose because of the growing encroachment by traders and preachers.
According to her, many pedestrians were discouraged from using the facility because navigating through the crowded walkway had become difficult and uncomfortable.
She appealed to the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly and other relevant authorities to intensify enforcement to prevent unauthorised trading and other activities on the footbridge and ensure it served its intended purpose of promoting pedestrian safety.
However, during the visit, personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were seen carrying out a decongestion exercise to remove hawkers from sections of the roadside around the footbridge as part of efforts to improve public safety and ease the movement of both pedestrians and motorists.
The exercise forms part of a pilot project initiated by the Municipal Fire Commander for Madina, Division Officer II (DO II) Abdul Salia, who assumed command of the Madina Municipal Fire Station three months ago.
Speaking in an interview with The Spectator, DO II Abdulai Salia, who is also a long time resident of the community, said the month long project began on July 1 and ended on July 31, with 30 firefighters deployed daily to regulate traffic, clear hawkers from the streets and footbridge, and create access for emergency vehicles.
