Asante Kotoko aim for third successive win as they host Brekum Chelsea today

Former champions Asante Kotoko will aim to stop Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday.
The Blues are on a three game unbeaten run away from home following two wins against Dreams FC and Medeama SC as well as last weekend’s draw against Hearts of Oak in Accra.
The Porcupine Warriors registered their second consecutive win in the season over Legon Cities on Matchday 12 and would fancy their chances against the best away performers in the League. The Reds boats three wins on the bouce in all competitions after their MTN FA Cup round of 64 win over Nations FC (4-2).
Asante Kotoko currently occupy the 7th spot in the league table with 16 points after two wins and three losses in their last 5 League games.
Berekum Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 5 matches, having won 4 and drawn 1 and go into the game as the team with the most points in the last five round of games.
Chelsea are 6th in the league table with 20 points – 4 points ahead of Asante Kotoko.
The Berekum lads are unbeaten in their last three away games with two wins and one draw after beaten Dreams FC and Medeama SC and drawing against Hearts of Oak.
The two sides have met three times at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium since 2020/21 with Asante Kotoko winning 2 and losing 1. In the 2020/21 season Asante Kotoko beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0 and lost 0-1 in the 2021/22 season before winning 2-1 in the 2022/23 season.
Midfielder Stephen Amankonah who has scored 5 goals in the league is expected to lead the lines for Berekum Chelsea against his former side. The likes of Emmanuel Essien, Awuah Dramani, Zakaria Fuseini, Yaw Dankwah, Flavien Kouassi, Afriyie Mezack and Collins Ameyaw.
Stephen Mukwala, Kalo Ouattara, Mohammed Sherif, Serge Zeze, Mfegue Mfegue Omgba, Enock Morrison, Richmond Lamptey, Henry Ansu and Justice Blay are all fit and available for selection.
The game will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 at 5pm on Monday, December 4,2023.
The other game on Monday is between Accra Great Olympics and Legon Cities at the WAFA Park at Sogakope.
Eighth placed Great Olympics have won 2, drawn 1 and suffered 2 defeats in their last 5 matches and currently sit 8th in the league table with 16 points – but with one outstanding game against CAF Champions League campaigners Medeama SC.
Head coach Annor Walker’s side are unbeaten at home having recorded 4 wins and 2 draws thus far.
Legon Cities have dropped to the lower ranks in the League standings after going five games without a win.
After one draw and 4 losses in their last five league games, the Royals, occupy the 16th spot with 12 points.
Legon Cities are yet to record a win on the road following 4 defeats and 2 draws in the process. They have managed only 1 goal in 6 away matches played so far.
Great Olympics have recorded two back to back wins and one draw against Legon Cities in their last three home games.
Great Olympics top scorer Emmanuel Antwi (4 goals) is available for the clash with the likes of Kekeli Attor, Prince Antwi, Solomon Adomako, Ebenezer Sekyere, Michael Osei, Razak Kasim, Solomon Twene and Michael Yeboah.
Legon Cities also have a very formidable squad with fully fit players like Frank Antwi, Nasiru Moro, Kamal Suraj, Samuel Tenedu, Albert Yeboah and Kwame Aziz.

MTN FA Cup Semi final and WPL final matches to pay tribute in honour of Dominic Frimpong
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and all the clubs participating in this weekend’s competitions will pay special tribute in honour of the memory of the late Dominic Frimpong of Berekum Chelsea FC (on loan from Aduana FC).
The GFA has in a statement announced that all the players and team officials of the 6 clubs playing this weekend competitions will wear black armbands on their jerseys as a mark of respect during their respective matches.
In addition, a minute of silence will be observed before the commencement of each game in his honour. This tribute will take place during the MTN FA Cup semi-final matches as well as the Women’s Premier League final scheduled for this weekend.
“The GFA counts on the full cooperation of all clubs and the fans in respectfully observing these arrangements as we collectively pay tribute to Dominic Frimpong,” the statement added.
The FA expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their understanding and support in these times.

Daniel Laryea leads officiating team for Aduana-Nations MTN FA Cup Semis

Daniel Laryea will handle the MTN FA Cup semifinal clash between Aduana FC and Nations FC at the Swedru Stadium on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Roland Addy will serve as Assistant I, with Seth Abletor as Assistant II, while Adaari Abdul Lattif works as 4th Referee.
The match is scheduled for a 3:00pm kick-off at the Swedru Stadium on Friday, April 17, 2026.
