Afronita part ways with Dance Academy

A Ghanaian dancer, Danita Akosua Adomaah Yeboah, popularly known as Afronita has parted ways with Dance With Purpose (DWP) Academy, a dance group.
The DWP Academy finally confirmed Afronita’s departure in a statement cited by Agoro on Monday, noting that it was a tough decision to let go of the dancer.
“We are happy to announce that our dear Danita Akosua Adomaah Yeboah (Afronita) has moved on as a brand on her own.”
It was a tough decision to let Afronita go, but her move is in line with the mission of Dance With A Purpose Academy to build brands out of all the young and gifted personalities that join the family,” the statement said.
It is, however, unclear what has pushed Afronita to leave the group. The young Ghanaian dance star has not yet said anything publicly about her departure.
According to the statement, Afronita joined DWP in 2018, at the age of 14. She successfully combines dance and education and succeeds at both to the admiration of many.
“Today, we are all witnesses to the tremendous transformation DWP has had in her life and artistic career.”
She, together with the many talented members of the DWP family has changed the narrative around professional dancing in Ghana and beyond. Afronita’s move is not the first and will certainly not be the last. Indeed, an opportunity like this affirms our slogan; “Find Your Purpose and Live it,” the statement said.
It said DWP is committed to unearthing talents, nurturing them and building strong personalities and brands that can thrive individually and as a group.
“We will continue to focus on our core family values including honesty, respect, compassion and responsibility,” the statement said.
We believe the sky is big enough to allow all of us space to shine as a group and also as individuals. Our doors are open to new talents in Ghana and beyond as we roll out our next biggest initiative this year.
We encourage all our fans, corporate organisations, individuals and partners in Ghana and abroad to continue to support the dream of DWP so we can continue to nurture great talents.

Ms Angel Adjei-Yeboah has been crowned winner of the maiden edition of the Miss Teen Western pageant, emerging top at a colourful grand finale held on May 23, 2026.
She beats off keen competition from a pool of talented contestants to secure the crown, with Alberta Yaaba Ackah finishing as first runner-up, Edith Nico placing second runner-up, Margaret Yaa Ankomah as third runner-up, and Cindy Anderson Bondzie as fourth runner-up.
The grand finale marked the climax of weeks of intensive grooming, cultural exposure and community engagement activities by the contestants, organised by Carilex Productions.
Before the finals, contestants undertook a cultural and educational tour to the Bisa Abrewa Museum in Nkontompo, Sekondi-Takoradi, as part of efforts to enrich their understanding of Ghana’s history and identity.
Madam Princess Antwi, Chief Executive Officer of Carilex Productions, described the maiden edition as a success, noting that it had laid a strong foundation for nurturing talent while also creating awareness about drug abuse and HIV/AIDS.
“This maiden edition has been a remarkable journey, and we are proud of how far these young ladies have come. It has never been just about beauty, but about building confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of identity,” she said.
According to Madam Antwi, the pageant seeks to raise a new generation of young leaders who are grounded in Ghanaian values and prepared to contribute meaningfully to national development.
“These young girls are the future, and through this platform, we are equipping them with the knowledge, confidence and voice to make a difference in their communities and beyond,” she stated.
Ms Adjei-Yeboah is expected to champion initiatives focused on youth development, education, and cultural promotion as part of her reign.
