2025 Miss Tourism beauty pageant launched

Miss Tourism Ghana has been launched with a call on Ghanaians to actively get involved in the promotion of the country’s tourism potential.
The launch, which took place at Tang Palace last Friday, brought together many stakeholders and industry players.
This edition is under the theme ‘Tourism: The Heart of Ghana: Women Shaping A Sustainable Ghana and Bridging the Divide for a United Future for All Africans.”
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto, officially declared this edition launched and unveiled the theme artwork.
She pledged GTA’s full support, ensuring contestants actively engage in their initiatives to promote Ghana’s rich culture and heritage.
The brain behind Miss Tourism, Ghana, Mrs Delphine Brew-Hammond, expressed appreciation to corporate Ghana and individuals who have supported them over the years.
She said their dream was to uplift young Ghanaian women by empowering them with pride in themselves.
Additionally, she said they equip the contestants with the knowledge and the skillset to promote the tourism potential of the country.
She said, by so doing, they would be able to make Ghana the most desirable destination in the world.
The regional auditions will commence this month before the final audition in June

Black Sherif unfazed by Grammy snub, says industry will grow with time

Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has revealed that his team filed entries for this year’s Grammy Awards but was not disappointed when he did not receive a nomination.
Speaking in an interview with Hitz FM, the Second Sermon hitmaker confirmed that his works were submitted in the Best African Music Performance and Global Music categories.
“We did file for the Grammys. would have been happy if they nominated me, but I’m not moved or touched that they didn’t. It doesn’t shift me” he said”.
Black Sherif explained that he understands the music industry is still growing and believes Ghanaian artists will eventually earn more global recognition.
“It’s a growing industry we have. As time goes on, we will get it,” he said confidently.
The rapper and singer, who has gained international attention for his unique sound and storytelling, added that he remains focused on creating more music and achieving new milestones despite the Grammy outcome.
“I’m not pushed. Let me do another award,” he remarked.
Black Sherif continues to be one of Ghana’s most celebrated young artists, known for blending hip-hop, highlife, and trap influences to tell deeply personal stories.
