Stand-up Comedy Festival: “Comic & Comedy” blends new and old generation of comedians for iconic nights

Ghanaians are set to have the time of their lives as pioneers in the country’s comedy industry join forces with a new generation of comedians for an unforgettable experience of over bursting into laughter.
The maiden stand-up comedy festival, dubbed “Comic & Comedy” and powered by JPS Communications with support from Superfam Network, is slated for Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Accra’s National Theatre.

The hilarious show “Comic & Comedy,” which has assembled top-notch comedians from the industry, will feature stunning performances from the old, current, and future generation of comedians under one roof for two nights, with shows at 4 pm and 8 pm each day.
Unleashing the atmosphere of uncontrolled laughter would be veteran politician and communications consultant, Fritz Baffour and astute broadcaster and actor, Mikki Osei Berko.
Complementing these legends would be the touch-bearers of the current generation, Foster Romanus, Clemento Suarez, Jacinta, OB Amponsah, Lekzy Decomic, Jeneral Ntatia, Afia Barcelona, Putogo and Yaa Anima.
The brain behind the event, Francis Tetteh Nutakor has pointed out that the Comedy industry is evolving, and for this reason, he thought it prudent to stage a show that will blend the old, current and future generation to commemorate milestones achieved.
He commented that the strides made from the days of concert parties and other comedy shows on television and the continuing impact of the present generation of comedians is a contribution to growth that should be celebrated.
Mr. Nutakor added that the festival’s goal is to recognize everyone who has contributed to the field, and this is what led to the collaboration.
Additionally, he thinks that this would provide the next generation a chance to draw from the well of wisdom that the space legends have to offer.
He continued by saying that in order to ensure that all of the groups were properly catered to, the organizers took into account the numerous patron segmentations.
There will be musical performances, dancing performances, networking opportunities, and more to make sure that the crowd’s excitement reaches a noticeable peak. Tickets for normal and VIP admission cost GHS150 and GHS250, respectively.
By dialing *713*003#, customers can easily order tickets from the comfort of their homes and participate in history by attending Ghana’s first stand-up comedy festival.

Bizzle Entertainment, which previously staged Fameye’s “2 in a Guy” concert and Highlife legend Amakye Dede’s 50th anniversary show in London, would co-produce the event.
Rapperholic, launched in 2013, has grown into one of Ghana’s biggest music brands, drawing thousands of fans each year.
The London edition is expected to attract a diverse audience and further cement Sarkodie’s influence on the global Afrobeats and rap music scenes. –GNA
