Member of Parliament for the people of Kpando Constituency,Della Sowah has said that the manifesto of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presents hope to Ghanaians.

According to her, the people of Ghana do not deserve the pain and economic mess experienced under the current administration.

Speaking to the media after the launch of the party’s manifesto over the weekend at Winneba in the Central Region, she said, Ghanaians cannot continue to endure another four years of excruciating pain under the same New Patriotic Party.

She said former president Mahama’s decision to scrap nuisance taxes, improve education, implement a bold $10 billion infrastructure investment to cater for public housing projects, offering free tertiary education to the disabled and first year students would go a long way to impact lives in the country.

According to her, Mahamaโ€™s pledge to scrap draconian taxes like E-levy, COVID levy, 10% levy on bet winnings, and Emissions levy within his first 90 days in office would help to alleviate hardships and ease the high cost of doing business.

The former Deputy Minister said, the NDC manifesto promise to Institute inquiries and/or forensic audits into matters of public interest such as the collapse of Indigenous Ghanaian banks and financial institutions at a supposed cost of GHS25 billion, illegal printing of money, the US$58 million National Cathedral scandal, illegal and inflated single- sourced contracts, COVID-19 expenditure scandal, PDS, Agyapa, SML, Ambulance spare parts deal, 13th African Games, Sky Train, Pwalugu Dam, Maths Sets, Galamsey Fraud, missing excavators and tricycles, Sputnik-V, BOST Scandal, and others provides hope.

She was optimistic that such action would help the nation recoup some corrupt monies for other developmental projects.

Against this backdrop, Della Sowah urged Ghanaians to vote massively for the former President to reset the country on a path to development.

The campaign team of former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has dismissed comments made by Kennedy Ohene Agyapong as false, baseless and unfair.

In a statement dated January 20, 2026, and referenced 200126 DMB 2026, the campaign expressed concern over a video circulating online in which Mr Agyapong accused Dr Bawumia of making comments about the health of the late Albert Adu Boahen and his decision not to take part in the 1996 New Patriotic Party presidential primaries.

The statement stressed that Dr Bawumia has never made such remarks and described the claims as wrongful attributions that could mislead the public and create unnecessary tension within the New Patriotic Party.

According to the campaign, branding Dr Bawumia as dishonest and unfit for leadership is unjustified and unsupported by facts.

It challenged Mr Agyapong to provide video or audio evidence to back his claims if he truly stands by them.

The campaign emphasised the need for accuracy and responsibility in political communication, noting that words carry weight and must be used carefully, especially among party leaders.

It called on Mr Agyapong to issue an immediate apology to Dr Bawumia, urging all aspirants to conduct themselves with truthfulness, restraint and respect as the party prepares for its presidential primaries.
