Interior minister reviews curfew on Bole township
The Minister for the Interior, on the advice of the Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument, has reviewed the Curfew hours for Bole Township and its environs in the Savannah Region from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am, effective Tuesday, September 09, 2025.
Government continues to urge Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
Meanwhile, the ministry is urging the people of Bole Township and its environs to note the following.
A total ban on carrying firearms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons, adding that any person found contrary to this, will be arrested and prosecuted.
No two or more persons should be seen on motorbikes throughout the day, and no war regalia should be worn throughout the day.

Akropong Fire Station rescues driver in Mamfe-Amamprobi accidents
A rescue team from the Akropong Fire Station swiftly responded to a road traffic accident at Mamfe-Amamprobi on Monday, 8th September 2025.
A DAF cargo truck with registration number GR 3583-15 loaded with over 1,000 cartons of bottled water had veered off the road, trapping the driver inside due to severe damage to the head compartment.
The rescue team successfully extricated the driver and transported him to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident was caused by brake failure while the truck was en route to Kumasi.
The incident resulted in injury of one person, the driver, with no fatalities reported.
The vehicle sustained partial damage to the head compartment, four rims damaged, and two tyres completely destroyed.

Afenyo-Markin pays fees for 33 Volta students at Legon
The Member of Parliament for Effutu and Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has paid the school fees of 33 students from the Volta Region studying at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The beneficiaries, who are members of the Volta Regional Students Association (VORSA), received a total of GHC 105,000 in financial support this afternoon.
Mr. Afenyo-Markin encouraged the students to remain disciplined, take their studies seriously, and strive for excellence.
He said education is vital for national development and urged the beneficiaries to become responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the progress of the country.
