Where to be on Christmas
REVELLERS will be spoilt for choice this Christmas as the whole country turns up with wonderful events.
As part of efforts to ensure our readers make the right choice, we have compiled some events for you this yuletide. Make sure you don’t miss these events below.
- December 20 – Diaspora summit started yesterday, Friday, December 19, and will end today. It is aimed at creating a platform for diasporans to collaborate for the development of the country.
- December 20 – Arathe-Jay Live will set the capital alive at Alliance Française, Accra, with amazing performances from other artistes.
- December 21 – Black Sherif’s Zaama Disco III will shake the foundation of the University of Ghana Sports Stadium with an unmatched atmosphere of revellers.
- December 23 – KiDi will be in his element at the Polo Beach Club in Accra with Likor on the Beach, turning up the Christmas party at the seaside.
- December 24 – Stonebwoy stages the 10th edition of BHIM Fest at the Accra Sports Stadium.
- December 24 – Samini will stage his Xperience Concert at the Laboma Beach with some dancehall and reggae vibes.
- December 25 – There would be an irresistible moment with the Highest, Sarkodie at Rapperholic on Christmas Day at the Grand Arena.
- December 25 – Joe Mettle Christmas Celebration will lift the Christmas atmosphere at a worship event at the Trust Sports Emporium.
- December 26 – At the Independence Square will be a celebration of Ghana’s cultural heritage as the Black Star Experience Secretariat stages ‘Taste The Culture’ on Boxing Day.
- December 27 – Ravers will team up with Mr Eazi for the Detty Rave at the Untamed Empire in Accra with thrilling party vibes.
- December 28-29 – The AfroFuture Festival will take centre stage at the El-Wak Stadium, with a blend of fashion, music and celebration of Africa’s culture.
- December 30 – Reigning Artiste of the Year, King Promise will have an intimate time with his fans at his event dubbed Promiseland slated for the Ghud Park, Accra Mall.

Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Michael Owusu Addo, affectionately called Sarkodie has described his annual event, Rapperholic concert as bigger than just a music event, highlighting its significant economic impact.
In a post after a successful Rapperholic edition in Kumasi, the rapper noted that the concert stimulates economic activity across Kumasi, Accra and the wider Ghanaian economy.
According to him, this is driven through tourism, hospitality, transportation, food, fashion, media, advertising, employment and the creative supply chain.
“The economic value of this concert extends far beyond ticket sales. It includes visitor spending, revenue for local businesses, temporary jobs created, suppliers paid and the future tourism and commercial opportunities generated by the event,” he stated.
Sarkodie called on government and the private sector to seize the opportunity to build an ecosystem where Ghanaian entertainment generates measurable economic value, supports businesses, creates jobs and attracts visitors.
“Let’s invest in our creative economy. The potential goes far beyond the stage,” he added.

Multiple award-winning dancehall artiste Emmanuel Andrew Samini popularly known as Samini is set to return to his Dansoman base with the much-anticipated Samini Experience on December 24.
The musician, who has nurtured top talents from the community in the past, says this year’s edition will be held in collaboration with the Dansoman Homecoming Carnival, to make the event bigger.
Speaking to the media at Kegali Hotel during a press launch on Friday, October 16, Samini said activities including a clean-up exercise, health walk, Children’s Day and games will take place from December 18 ahead of the main event.
According to him, the choice of Dansoman is to give back to the community where it all started.
He added that the event was also aimed at nurturing future talents by giving them a platform to showcase their abilities.
He disclosed that some music legends from Dansoman and other big names in the music industry will be on the bill to thrill patrons.
Samini also revealed that the Dansoman Exhibition streets will be blocked to make way for the unforgettable night of music.
He expressed appreciation to the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly for their collaboration to ensure the success of the programme.
