Tidal Rave Brouhaha: Chief Stylz held my neck – DJ Mensah

Sarkodie’s Disc Jockey, DJ Mensah has disclosed a heated moment between him and Stonebwoy’s Manager, Chief Stylz (Abiola) at the just-ended Tidal Rave Festival held at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.
Speaking to Andy Dosty, on Hitz FM’s Showbiz Review, DJ Mensah said he was called to set up because Sarkodie was next after Stonebwoy.
Against this backdrop, he went to the DJ set on the stage during Stonebwoy’s performance waiting for them to finish for him to take over.
“When I got there, I kept checking the list, Abiola had a phone in his hands, and I saw DJ Minor set up, so I told him (DJ Minor), we are next to perform and not you, I said that playfully,” DJ Mensah noted.
“At one point, I saw Minor tell Abiola that they have kept too long. So I went to Abiola to tell him you guys were keeping so long,” DJ Mensah added.
According to DJ Mensah, right after telling Chief Stylz, they have kept long, “What I remember is he had one hand to my neck and had a fist in the other one when I still had my laptop in my hands.I wasn’t ready to fight him. The organisers came to calm the situation.”
“I don’t know what warranted that anger after I told him that they have kept long. He should not hold back whatever that made him angry, we are on radio,” DJ Mensah added.
He further added that one of their guys called Pounds rushed down the DJ set to inform their manager Angelo what was happening, however, by the time Angelo walked on stage “we were done and I was getting set to set up, I had no idea how Stonebwoy’s microphone went off.”

According to sources, he was said to have died in the early hours on Monday, September 1, 2025 after a long battle with blood cancer (Leukemia)
His death has been a shock in the Ghanaian community especially coming shortly after his last post.
His demise comes five months after he had laid his mother, Amounu, also a tiktoker, to rest, having lost her in January.
Hours before his passing, he had posted a video on Sunday with friends watching the Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano match, prompting many fans to initially dismiss the reports as a hoax.
