Renowned Broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah has revealed that it took her about 10 years to finally launch Women of Valour, a platform to empower the next generation of women.
Women of Valour (WoV) is a one-of-a-kind women empowerment event that seeks to bring together strong, courageous women to share their stories of triumph, loss, and everything in between to inspire others to greatness.
Speaking at the official launch to unveil speakers for the maiden edition slated for March 8, 2023, at the held GHastro restaurant on Tuesday, February 7, Nana Aba Anamoah said after 10 years of procrastination to ensure the best comes out, she has finally gathered the courage to unveil WoV.
“People who know me truly well know that I am a big fan of procrastination, I love to procrastinate, not because I am lazy, it’s because I love to think through an idea, think and think thoroughly before I move it from paper to reality,” she said.
Nana Aba Anamoah added that “so for 10 years, every single year before international women’s day, I speak to myself maybe it is time to do Women of Valour, then I change my mind, something comes about or I just jump into my lazy shell.”
The brain behind the initiative further added that “In December 2022, I went on leave because I needed a break, and in the middle of one night, I received an epiphany and I just said this is it, 2023 I need to roll out WoV, the moment I felt it, I knew there is no turning back.”
Sharing her inspiration, she said there had been a number of times at the least of her moments, a woman’s story she had read would help her overcome her situation.
According to her, at times she runs into some young women uninvited and shares what she had learned from people’s experiences with them to serve as a motivation for them to move to the next level.
She revealed that this year’s event would have speakers like seasoned and award-winning actress, Omotoloa Jalade Ekeinde, renowned Supersports studio anchor and pitchside reporter, Julia Stuart, and a Ghanaian young social entrepreneur and Women & children’s rights activist, Eugenia Baffour Bankoh.
WoV 2023 will open with powerful presentations from three women of repute and substance:
Sika Goka doing a presentation on the topic,“Becoming a Quintessential Lady”
Obuobia doing a presentation on the topic, “Hello Gen Z… Here are some hard truths”
Ms. Charlotte OSEI doing a presentation on the topic, “Why Women Need Courage

Eugenia Baffour Bankoh
Eugenia is a Ghanaian young social entrepreneur and Women & children’s rights activist whose main focus is advocacy for gender-based violence.
She worked as a senior marketing consultant for a European business organization and later a
senior marketing manager for Orion advertising agency before she quit to focus on a full time
advocacy.
She is the founder of The Safe Space Foundation and is currently running the foundation full-time. She is passionate about women and children advocacy and in her spare time she prefers to read.
Julia Stuart
Julia Stuart is an award-winning presenter and is presenter at SuperSport International in South Africa.
She works as a studio anchor and pitchside reporter on SuperSport’s many football properties including the DSTV Premiership as well as cup competitions in South Africa and Premier League TV internationally.
Julia anchored the just-ended Qatar 2022 World Cup on super sports. She also anchored the UEFA European Championships, Africa Cup of Nations, Fifa Women’s World Cup, and UEFA Europa League.
The 2019 SAB Sports Video Media Presenter of the Year hosts the tactical analysis show Extra Time Reloaded. In 2020 she co-hosted the Premier Soccer League Awards for the first time.
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde aka OmoT is among many things a multiple award-winning Nigerian actress, Director, UNwfp ambassador, and Amnesty international activist.
Omotola was in February 2013, honoured by TIME magazine, as one of the 100 most influential people in the world alongside Michelle Obama, Kate Middleton, and Beyonce.
She is a Voting Member of the Oscars and a Member of the Actors Executive Committee for the Academy.
Omotola was on the 5th of February 2019 honoured By the “City of Los Angeles” as a Leading Black Person in cinema.

Sika Goka is a Certified Etiquette Coach who received her training from The British School of
Etiquette in the UK. As part of her accreditation, she is also certified by The Institute of Leadership Management (ILM), City and Guilds. She has a BA in Business Studies from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University, UK.
Sika has more than a decade of experience in the banking sector, having worked in various roles within retail banking, and mortgage services, and as a Branch Manager with Barclays Bank, UK, and Head of Customer Services with Fidelity Bank Ghana.

She is a former on-air personality at Radio Gold, hosted the breakfast show on TV Africa and is currently with WoezorTV, one of Accra’s exciting television networks.
She is a former Deputy Chief Executive of the Ghana Free Zones Authority.

Charlotte Osei
Charlotte Osei is a highly accomplished Ghanaian Business Lawyer, Legal and International Elections Consultant with over 28 years combined experiences in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors within and outside Ghana. As a woman, Charlotte has shattered many glass ceilings in her professional life.

Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Sammy Awuku, has expressed deep sorrow following the sudden passing of Isaac Batsa, the constituency secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker issued a statement on Tuesday reacting to the news, which has shocked the local political community.
Mr.Awuku praised the late NDC secretary for his bipartisan approach to local governance.
He noted that despite their different political affiliations, Batsa consistently rose above party lines to serve the constituency with diligence.
The MP revealed that the news was particularly shocking given that he had last interacted with Batsa just three days prior on Saturday.
Concluding his statement, Sammy Awuku extended his heartfelt condolences to Batsa’s family, the constituency and regional executives, and the entire NDC fraternity, wishing the deceased peaceful eternal rest.

Attorney General charges Chairman Wontumi and two others over alleged GH¢18.7 million Ghana Exim Bank fraud
The Office of the Attorney General has charged Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, and two others over the alleged fraudulent acquisition of funds from the Ghana Export-Import Bank for a farming project.
The charges were brought against Chairman Wontumi, Thomas Antwi-Boasiako, who is currently at large, and Wontumi Farms Limited.
According to court documents released by the Attorney General’s office, Chairman Wontumi, identified as the first accused person, allegedly approached the Ghana Exim Bank in January 2018 for financial support to undertake a large-scale farming project.
The prosecution said he applied for a GH¢19 million facility on behalf of Wontumi Farms Limited and claimed that the company had secured a 100,000-acre parcel of land for the proposed farming venture.
The Attorney General alleged that documents submitted together with the application contained false information.
According to the prosecution, one of the documents presented as a board resolution letter was dated January 23, 2018, but referred to a board resolution supposedly passed on December 9, 2017, four days before the company was officially incorporated on December 14, 2017.
The prosecution further stated that the accused persons also submitted a project proposal claiming that 2,500 hectares of the proposed farm would employ about 6,000 families, representing nearly 38,000 individuals.
Court documents indicate that the Ghana Exim Bank later approved an GH¢18.7 million facility made up of loans and grants for the project.
The facility was reportedly intended for the purchase of agricultural machinery, working capital, staff costs and consultancy services.
According to investigators, the bank disbursed more than GH¢14.3 million to the company between January and March 2018.
However, investigations by the Economic and Organised Crime Office of the Attorney General allegedly found that the proposed farming activities were never carried out.
The prosecution said the accused persons neither purchased the agricultural machinery nor secured the land they claimed to own for the project.
Investigators also alleged that Chairman Wontumi later submitted a document to the bank as proof that the company had purchased agricultural machinery worth GH¢4 million.
However, investigations reportedly established that the document was originally a pro-forma invoice from KAS-SAMA Enterprise and not an actual receipt.
According to the Attorney General’s office, the inscription “Pro-forma Invoice” was allegedly altered and replaced with the word “Receipt” before it was submitted to the bank.
The prosecution further alleged that Chairman Wontumi withdrew large sums from the company’s accounts and used the funds for personal expenses and investments in other businesses.
The Attorney General stated that attempts by the bank to recover the money were unsuccessful.
The Economic and Organised Crime Office reportedly began investigations into the matter in March 2025.
Chairman Wontumi was later arrested, cautioned and officially charged on May 14, 2026.
