I’d rather invest in my soul than vain body enhancements – Celestine Donkor

Ghanaian gospel singer Celestine Donkor has kicked against the current body enhancement trend by some Ghanaian celebrities.

She described such development as vain and materialistic.

According to Donkor, she would rather invest such monies spent on enhancing bodies,in her soul.

Donkor said the soul was timeless and immortal while the body was going to perish one day.

“As a minister I can confidently say here that for me personally, if I have GH¢40,000 or GH¢50,000 to work on my body I would invest in my soul. Because this body will perish one day, trust me,” she said on Hitz FM.

She added that “the one that will not die is your soul. So we spend time in looking good and the soul looks terrible. If you have a perfect combination of the two, praise Jesus for you.”

“But to invest so much in looking good, appearing good and your soul is dying, it is really a sad thing to happen to a human being. Because the worthless creature after death is the human body. Even goats when they die they have value because we use them in our soup,” she stressed.

Popular Ghanaian content creator, Elvis Frimpong, known in showbiz circles as Osanju has been reported dead.

According to sources, he was said to have died in the early hours on Monday, September 1, 2025 after a long battle with blood cancer (Leukemia)

His death has been a shock in the Ghanaian community especially coming shortly after his last post.

His demise comes five months after he had laid his mother, Amounu, also a tiktoker, to rest, having lost her in January.

Hours before his passing, he had posted a video on Sunday with friends watching the Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano match, prompting many fans to initially dismiss the reports as a hoax.

Osanju’s death has been described as a huge loss by followers who admired his openness, resilience and positive outlook in the face of ill health.

However, Osanju had previously shared his battle with leukemia, a cancer of the blood, on his TikTok account, even eerily predicting his own demise on a couple of occasions.
