The good people of Ghana have been asked to be patient with President Nana Akufo-Addo in these difficult and trying moments of the country to enable him to deliver on his mandate.
He has also been admonished to continue to be tolerant with the criticisms from a section of the citizens in the face of the mounting economic hardship the country is facing.
Nii Ashitey Tetteh, Head of Ngleshie Alata, Okortsoshishi family and Acting Amamole Mantse said these on Sunday when he addressed family members after performing rituals to usher in Homowo celebrations this year.
Nii Ashitey Tetteh pleaded with the government to complete the Jamestown Landing Beach Project quickly to enable the idle youth in the area to get jobs and also give lasting relief to the fishermen, who were toiling daily to make ends meet.
He said drug addiction, unemployment, violence and chieftaincy disputes had been soaring in the Ga State and urged the government to act swiftly to curb them.
He again said there was nothing fetish about Homowo celebrations and performance of the rituals to honour and remember their ancestors.
He said “The tradition should never be abandoned because our ancestors with no formal education were able to regulate norms and principles that enforced law and order in society.”
Family members from Glidzi Anexom and Zowla in Togo were led by Asafoatse Folly Bebe Kangni Mathias, and Madam AkweiAdoteyAkushika while others also from Benin and Nigeria.
One unique feature about the family members from the Diaspora and their Ga Mashie counterparts is that they all speak impeccable Ga and bear similar names as well.

Christians have been urged to demonstrate a living faith in Jesus Christ by allowing their confession of Him as Lord and Saviour to reflect in their daily lives.
According to the Kaneshie District Pastor of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG), Rev. Dzidzor Nathaniel Affram, a genuine Christian’s confession should go beyond words and be demonstrated through obedience to God, love for others and service to the Church.
He made the call at the 40th anniversary remembrance service for the late Wesley Kwasi Kwadzo at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Maranatha Congregation at Awudome Avenui in the Volta Region.
Speaking on the theme, “The Church Built on a Living Confession,” Rev. Affram said life would continually present challenges capable of testing Christians’ faith, making it necessary for believers to hold firmly to their confession that Jesus Christ is Lord.
He explained that accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour required Christians to live according to His teachings, stressing that their faith must be evident in their conduct.
“A living confession listens to God and not man,” he said, urging Christians to remain obedient to God even when faced with difficulties and pressures.
Rev. Affram further encouraged the congregation to care for vulnerable people and demonstrate concern for others, adding that such acts were practical expressions of Christian faith.
He also urged Christians to identify and use their God-given gifts to build the Church.
He said every member of the Church had a role to play and cautioned Christians against looking down on others because of their status or abilities.
The remembrance service brought together family members, friends, members of the congregation and sympathisers to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the late Wesley Kwasi Kwadzo.
