Aduana FC’s lead under threat as Hearts come to town

GHANA Premier League (GPL) leaders, Aduana FC will welcome Accra Hearts of Oak to the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park for the Matchday 15 clash with the host looking to stretch their lead.
Aduana FC lead the log with 27 points, one better than second place Medeama SC who has a game in hand and three better than Hearts who are fourth on the log.
Aduana are tipped to carry the day tomorrow on the back of recent results.
In the last six fixtures between the two sides, the ‘Ogya’ boys have recorded five wins and a draw in both home and away games.
Further to this, the Phobians are yet to pick a victory at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in a decade and with the form of the league leaders, it looks unlikely for the visitors to rewrite that record tomorrow.
For Phobian fans, the uncertain nature of the game is what is underpinning the Phobians hope of changing the narrative; however, Coach of Aduana FC, Romanian Aristică Cioabă is not entertaining any surprises and not ready to see the record crumble under his tenure.
“Hearts of Oak is a great team and we respect them a lot, but we’ll ensure we continue with our dominance over them tomorrow.”
The Dormaa Ahenkro township is waiting for this fierce cliffhanger which Head Coach of Hearts of Oak Mas-Ud Didi Dramani is well aware of and the challenge it comes with.
He notes ahead of the game that they would go in with their best foot forward and make sure they come out the best side.
In seven away games this season, Hearts have won three, drawn same and lost one, and for many, this record may just help define the outcome of the game, that is, if the Phobians decide to turn on the style.
Former league winners, Samartex FC, after losing 2-0 in the Western derby to Basake Holy Stars last week, make a return to the Nsenkyire Sports Arena to host Heart of Lions in a game Head Coach Christopher Ennin is aiming to win to appease the home fans.
In other games:
- Hohoe United will stay put at the Hohoe Sports Stadium to welcome Bibiani Gold Stars SC.
- Karela United host Vision FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
- Dreams FC and Berekum Chelsea battle it out at the Tuba Astro Turf.
- The Kwame Kyei Sports Complex will see action between Nations FC and Young Apostles FC.
On Monday, Medeama SC return to home soil, the TnA Stadium, to square-off with Basake Holy Stars in a fiercely anticipated Western Region derby under the lights, while third placed side Asante Kotoko trek to the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon to play as guest of bottom placed club Eleven Wonder on Wednesday.
