No Limits Charity Organisation in partnership with Changing African Lives Foundation have registered over 500 children at James Town in Accra on to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The move which formed part of activities to mark the second anniversary of No Limits’ Ga Mashie 360 Learning Centre was also aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of children within the area through the NHIS.
Speaking to The Spectator during the exercise, Executive Director and Founder of No Limits Charity Organisation, Ms Ritabella Garlo, said children from four basic schools in James Town including Sempe Basic School, Adedeinkpo Primary, New Life International School and Presbyterian Basic School were registered on to the NHIS.
In addition she said, children who were enrolled in tailoring, hairdressing and other vocations, were also provided with the NHIS card.
“We went through a needs assessment process and discovered that most children did not have the NHIS cards, hence their inability to seek quality health care when need be. So this would go a long way to give some relief to parents and their wards,” she stated.
With this, she said, they would be able to protect the health of young people who would grow to become the future leaders.
The target initially she said, was for only children but some parents also took advantage to get their NHIS cards.
She explained that the centre was established to improve upon education within Ga Mashie and promised to do more to impact on the academic performance of the children.
That, she said, would build on the confidence of the children in James Town and position them for bigger platforms.
She expressed appreciation to partners, sponsors and individuals for their support while urging all to come on board to support the children within James Town and beyond.

Christians have been urged to demonstrate a living faith in Jesus Christ by allowing their confession of Him as Lord and Saviour to reflect in their daily lives.
According to the Kaneshie District Pastor of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG), Rev. Dzidzor Nathaniel Affram, a genuine Christian’s confession should go beyond words and be demonstrated through obedience to God, love for others and service to the Church.
He made the call at the 40th anniversary remembrance service for the late Wesley Kwasi Kwadzo at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Maranatha Congregation at Awudome Avenui in the Volta Region.
Speaking on the theme, “The Church Built on a Living Confession,” Rev. Affram said life would continually present challenges capable of testing Christians’ faith, making it necessary for believers to hold firmly to their confession that Jesus Christ is Lord.
He explained that accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour required Christians to live according to His teachings, stressing that their faith must be evident in their conduct.
“A living confession listens to God and not man,” he said, urging Christians to remain obedient to God even when faced with difficulties and pressures.
Rev. Affram further encouraged the congregation to care for vulnerable people and demonstrate concern for others, adding that such acts were practical expressions of Christian faith.
He also urged Christians to identify and use their God-given gifts to build the Church.
He said every member of the Church had a role to play and cautioned Christians against looking down on others because of their status or abilities.
The remembrance service brought together family members, friends, members of the congregation and sympathisers to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the late Wesley Kwasi Kwadzo.
