Special guest Stonebwoy will join Angélique Kidjo for her concert at the Royal Albert Hall on November 17, 2023.
The Beninese singer-songwriter and five-time Grammy Award winner will be celebrating her 40-year career-spanning catalogue, performing her greatest hits accompanied by her band and the Chineke! Orchestra. As part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, this remarkable event will pay tribute to the extensive career of one of Africa’s best-known pop voices, hailed as ‘Africa’s premier diva’.
She will also be joined by notable musicians, including singer Laura Mvula, Grammy-nominated trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf, and Senegalese superstar Youssou N’Dour.
Ghanaian singer-songwriter and energetic performer Stonebwoy has fostered a vibrant and positive creative bond with Angélique Kidjo, stemming from his shared passion for creating exceptional music that transcends boundaries.
Recently, he released his most prestigious video to date for the brand new single, Manodzi (which is being considered for a Grammy award nomination in the Best Africa Music Performance Category), featuring Angélique Kidjo. The video reflects the message behind the single Manodzi well.
Stonebwoy, credited with pioneering and powering the Afro-dancehall music genre into a global cultural and musical phenomenon, has become a prominent figure and distinguishable voice in the African reggae and dancehall scene.
With a career that began in 2009, he has released five remarkable albums, including the 2023 Billboard-rated album “5th Dimension,” which received consideration for nomination at the upcoming 66th Grammy Awards across the “Best Global Music Album” and “Best Reggae Album” categories and has achieved impressive physical and digital sales, with numerous chart-topping hits across Africa and beyond.

Fashion student Matilda Domfegro was crowned Miss Tourism Ghana 2026 at a colourful grand finale held last Friday at the National Theatre in Accra.
Matilda beat seven other finalists after weeks of challenging activities and grooming. On the night, contestants put their best foot forward as they were tested in key areas including Regional Representation, Specific Tourism Presentation, and a Q&A session, where they showed their knowledge of Ghana’s tourism potential before a panel of judges.
At the end of the keenly contested event, Matilda emerged as the overall winner. Adwoa Nyarko Owusu-Sarfo and Agnes Nuworzah were adjudged 1st and 2nd princesses respectively.
Speaking to The Spectator after her crowning, an elated Matilda said she was excited to wear the crown and was ready to leave a lasting legacy by projecting Ghana’s tourist sites.
She noted that through collaboration with stakeholders and strategic planning, Ghana’s tourism sector could see massive growth.
“Tourism is the mother of all sectors because it has many other industries along its value chain. I call on everyone to come on board,” she added.

The Kente Wear Festival is set to return in 2026 with an expanded series of four spectacular shows celebrating Ghana’s rich textile heritage, fashion, and culture, with Ghanaian musician Lord Paper and his band announced as the headline performers for this year’s edition.
The annual festival continues to champion the promotion of Ghana’s iconic Kente fabric while creating a platform for designers, models, entrepreneurs, and lovers of African culture to showcase the beauty and creativity of Ghanaian fashion in the diaspora.
The 2026 edition will be held across four venues, giving patrons multiple opportunities to experience the unique blend of fashion, music, and culture. 
One of the major highlights of this year’s festival will be the performance by Lord Paper and his band, who are expected to thrill audiences with some of their biggest hits while adding a vibrant musical experience to the celebration of Ghanaian heritage.
According to the organisers, the festival remains committed to promoting Made-in-Ghana apparel, fashion accessories, and locally inspired designs while strengthening the connection between Ghanaians in the diaspora and their cultural roots. “We live in a globalised world, and it is important that we celebrate Ghanaian fashion and culture wherever we find ourselves. Through the Kente Wear Festival, we continue to preserve our traditions, tell our stories, and introduce the elegance of Ghanaian craftsmanship to a global audience,” the organisers said.
Beyond the fashion runway, the festival will feature cultural performances, exhibitions, networking opportunities, and displays of both traditional and contemporary Kente-inspired designs, making it one of the premier events celebrating Ghanaian culture.
