PAC commends Tamale Technical University for exemplary financial management
The Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Hon. Abena Osei Asare, has commended officials of the Tamale Technical University (TaTU) for their strong fiscal discipline and sound financial management.
Appearing before the Committee at Parliament House on Thursday to address findings in the Auditor-General’s 2023 and 2024 reports, external auditors confirmed that TaTU’s financial records were in good order with no noted infractions.
The Chairperson described the performance of Prof. IMORO IBN SAEED BASHIRU and his management team, who had been in office for just over a year and four months, as remarkable.
Also appearing before the Committee were officials from Ho, Accra, Sunyani, Koforidua, Kumasi, and Cape Coast Technical Universities, alongside the University of Natural Resources and Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University.
Separately, the Vice Chancellor of Bolga Technical University, Prof. Samuel Alnna, reported a surplus of GH¢35 million—an increase of over 2000 percent—derived mainly from school fees and donor funding.
The Committee is expected to conclude its public hearings on the Auditor-General’s 2024 reports, with examinations of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) and the Ministry of Education.
The Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA)and Chair of the Africa Network of Cybersecurity Authorities(ANCA), Mr. Divine Selase Agbeti, has positioned Ghana at the centre of continental cybersecurity discussions at the Cyber and Information Security Exhibition and Conference (CAISEC)2026 in Cairo.
There, he delivered a keynote address, chaired the first Arab-Africa Cybersecurity Roundtable, and received a Special Achievement Award.
Speaking to government officials, regulators, industry leaders and international partners, Mr. Agbeti noted that cybersecurity had become central to national security, economic development,and digital trust.
He called for stronger regional collaboration, investment in capacity development, and coordinated responses to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
He highlighted Ghana’s progress in cybersecurity regulation, critical information infrastructure protection, cybercrime response, incident management and public-private partnerships.
He urged African countries to move beyond isolated national efforts and work together to protect their digital economies.
As part of the conference, Mr. Agbeti, in his capacity as ANCA Chair, presided over the inaugural Arab-Africa Cybersecurity Roundtable.
The meeting brought together cybersecurity authorities and policymakers from Africa and the Arab region to discuss threat intelligence sharing, cyber diplomacy, critical infrastructure protection, workforce development, cybercrime response and digital trust.
Participants agreed to deepen institutional collaboration and develop practical mechanisms for sustained cooperation between both regions.
The roundtable was described as a milestone for South-South cooperation and a signal of Africa’s growing role in global cybersecurity governance.
Mr. Agbeti was also honoured with a Special Achievement Award for his contribution to cybersecurity policy, resilience, capacity building, and international cooperation across Ghana and Africa.
He dedicated the award to Ghana, the Cyber Security Authority, ANCA member states, and partners working to build a safer digital future.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that it will release the names of shortlisted applicants for its ongoing recruitment exercise by July 20, 2026.
In a statement issued on June 23, 2026, and signed by the Deputy Director-General for Management Services, Prof. Smile Dzisi, the Service said it is currently reviewing all applications received to ensure that applicants meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the recruitment advertisement.
According to the statement, the review of applications is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.
It said the names of successful applicants who make it to the next stage of the recruitment process will be announced by July 20, after which the onboarding process at the regional and district levels will begin.
The GES explained that the onboarding exercise will run from July 20 to August 31, 2026.
The statement added that successful applicants are expected to assume duty on August 31, 2026.
Management of the Service thanked all applicants for their interest in serving the nation and expressed appreciation for their patience and understanding throughout the recruitment process.
The GES also wished all applicants well and encouraged them to contact its Public Relations Unit for further information.
