Amakye Dede hints at a soon-to-be-released song with Sarkodie

Seasoned Ghanaian highlife crooner, Amakye Dede, known popularly as Abrante3 Amakye Dede, has announced a new musical project with ace Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo, better known as Sarkodie.

The veteran singer revealed he is working on a series of new projects in which he made use of Sarkodie’s rapperholic voice in one of them.

Abrante3 Amakye Dede disclosed this in an interview with Zion Felix, a Ghanaian entertainment blogger, which was monitored by Modernghana News. He is very optimistic about the yet-to-be-released song being a hit when it finally released.

“I am still working on some tracks. I have a song with Sarkodie. It will soon come out and I know it will be a hit,” he said with a high tone of optimism.

The multi-award-winning crooner also stated his willingness to welcome young artists seeking advice from him.

“My doors are always opened to anybody especially those who want to seek musical counsel. We wouldn’t live forever and I need to groom someone. My doors are always opened to them,” he said.

The legendary music iconic writer credits his outstanding song writings as one of the catalysts for his musical success and making his songs still relevant.

“I have the strength. Music is my business, I have been doing this right from my young days. I am very ‘serious’ about it because I feel it is a gift from God. We are to use our talents well. I built ‘Abrantie Sport’ and my big hotel from this. Music is my business and this is what fetches me money,” he noted.

Dan Amakye Dede is a Ghanaian musician. He is one of Ghana’s premier high-life artists, popularly referred to as “Iron Boy”, “the high-life maestro” and “Abrantie”. He has songs like “Dabi Dabi,” “Asem to me a kabi ma me,” “ma gye me girl”, “Sansan Kroma,” and other powerful songs.

The red carpet of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) was lit up with a mind-blowing exhibition of creativity this Saturday in Nigeria, as Ghana’s Nana Akua Addo stunned everyone with her jaw-dropping fashion choices.

The AMVCA is an annual, prestigious awards ceremony presented by MultiChoice. It recognises outstanding achievements in African television, film, and digital content creation across the continent.

The Ghanaian actress and global fashion icon has, over the years, taken centre stage of the AMVCA red carpet each year. 

She consistently pushes the boundaries of avant-garde style, making her one of the most anticipated stars of the night.

The Talk of the Red Carpet This year, her main outfit silver architectural dress, inspired by Cologne Cathedral in Germany became the absolute talk of the red carpet.

The breathtaking, structured silver gown featured intricate, three-dimensional details mimicking towering gothic spires and pointed arches. 

The structural design transformed the style icon into a walking piece of art, requiring assistance from her team to navigate the venue smoothly.

The masterpiece was brought to life by Nigerian designer, Mohammed Abbas (Abasswoman), who revealed that the complex design process began back in November.

A Night of multiple looks true to her reputation as a fashion chameleon, the cathedral gown was not Nana Akua Addo’s only statement of the evening.

 She further disrupted the event by debuting two other high-concept structural ensembles.

 Attendees and digital audiences were treated to a visual feast as she also appeared in, The Spiral Outfit, a futuristic, swirling conceptual piece that captivated onlookers.

Also, she was seen in the Living Stone Outfit, a heavily textured, sculptural dress that blended natural geometry with high fashion.

Nana Akua Addo’s triple-threat appearance solidified Ghana’s dominant style presence on the pan-African stage, proving once again that she does not just attend the red carpet, she defines it.

Alex Ekubo dies at age 40

Popular Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, on Monday passed away after a long battle with cancer on Monday.

According to reports he died at age 40.

Ekubo was best known for his roles in the Weekend Getaway and the music video titled Johnny by Yemi Alade in 2013.

 He had won many awards and accolades for his work in the entertainment industry and humanitarian efforts.

While his family and management are yet to issue a statement, tributes have been pouring in from fans and friends in Nigeria’s and Ghanaian films industry.

The Nollywood star made his acting debut in the 2005 production, Sinners in the House.

He graduated with a degree in law from the University of Calabar and broke into stardom in 2010 after competing in the Mr Nigeria competition.

In 2013, he won Best Supporting Actor in the Best of Nollywood Awards for his role as Andre Dikeh in Weekend Getaway.

Ekubo had received nine awards during his career, including Best of Nollywood’s Best Actor of the year (2016) and Best Lead Actor (2022).

Nigeria’s First Lady gave him a Special Recognition Award in 2018 for his contribution and development of the country’s entertainment industry.

In 2020, he was inducted into the UN’s Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) under 40, for his efforts in entertainment and social development.
