Accra Hearts Of Oak to play subsequent matches behind closed doors

The Ghana Football Association, Ghana has referred Accra Hearts Of Oak to the Disciplinary Committee for disregarding COVID-19 protocols in their game against Accra Great Olympics on Saturday.

According to the GFA in a strong worded statement, until the Disciplinary Committee had determined the case, Hearts Of Oak will play behind closed doors.

The GFA condemned the act, and further cautioned all other teams to ensure the various COVID-19 were efficiently applied at all venues.

Young Apostles defender Claude Shooting Bortey has been named NASCO player of the month for March following an outstanding run of performances.

The Young Apostles star edged out strong competition from Setsofia Aqetey of Vision FC and winger Samuel Okai of Bechem United after scoring three goals and earning one Man of the Match award during the period.

As part of his reward, Claude Bortey will receive a 43-inch NASCO Television set, courtesy of Electroland Ghana Limited, as well as a NASCO double-door bottom-freezer refrigerator.

Black Stars Coach Carlos Queiroz to meet Media in Accra on Thursday

Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz will address the media at a press conference on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The event, scheduled for 1:00pm, will bring together members of the media to interact with the Portuguese trainer following his appointment as Black Stars head coach last week.

Queiroz will use the platform to share his vision for the team, outline his technical philosophy, and answer questions from the press ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The unveiling also provides an opportunity to formally introduce the coach to the Ghanaian public, set expectations for the World Cup campaign, and foster alignment between the technical team, the media, and supporters.

Ghana will be making a fifth appearance at the Mundial and have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
