Beat makers face-off in maiden competition

Rhythmic and sensational beat producer in Ghana, Qp Music Studio, has opened doors for beat makers in Ghana to compete in the maiden beat challenge.

The competition was launched in Accra by Zapp Mallet, a renowned Ghanaian Record Producer at the Qp Music Studio at Abelemkpe.

According to Madam Lillian Kent, Media Relations Officer of Qp Music Production, the aim of this worthy challenge was for beat makers in Ghana both recognised and budding to come on board and compete.

The winner of the competition would represent Ghana on the international level in Toronto, Canada.

She highlighted that, producers were to submit no more than 10 and not less than eight beats for the battle, and added that each beat should not be less than 60 seconds and must be in a form of mp3.

Madam Kent underscored that beats with vocals would not be accepted and rules of the submissions should be strictly adhered to.

“Beats submitted would be screened by a jury made up of three members chaired by Zapp Mallet, all the three are industry players,” she explained.

The Media Relations Officer announced that the deadline for submissions would be September 30, 2020, stating that the final battle would be held at Sika Hall at Atinka Studios, Accra.

She told producers to submit their beats at Qp Studios at Abelemkpe opposite Marwarko, Accra or send entries via email qpmusicpro@gmail.com

Madam Kent expressed appreciation to Mr Samuel Quartey-Papafio, founder of Qp Music Production for spearheading the affairs of the studio, and giving this opportunity to beat makers.

Inna Patty Called to the Bar of England

Ms. Inna Mariam Patty, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Exclusive Events Ghana, was called on Tuesday to the Bar of England and Wales at a ceremony held by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. She earned a distinction from the University of Law after completing the Bar Practice Course and received the Dean’s Award for Excellence Scholarship.

The former beauty queen stated that she sees law as a continuation of her purpose, using it as a tool for empowerment, justice, and social impact, particularly for women and vulnerable communities. Ms. Patty, who currently serves on the Board of FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital and chairs the Miss Ghana Foundation, said that law has always aligned with her bigger plans, and she was glad to have finally fulfilled her dreams.

Miss Patty holds an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics, a GDL and BPC with Distinction from the University of Law, and a certificate in Mediation and Negotiation. Her legal training has included judicial shadowing at the Business and Property Courts and Immigration and Asylum Chamber, as well as pro bono work at the Immigration Tribunal (Taylor House), reflecting her passion for justice.

Among the notable personalities present were Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK, Mrs. Zita Benson and her husband Mr. Bobby Benson, Mr. Kwabena Osei-Danquah, Chief of Staff at the Commonwealth Secretariat, London, and Eileen Baguma, General Manager of EIB Network, Founder and President of Women in Sustainability Africa.
