Yvonne Nelson set to premiere “Tripping” on Easter Friday

Ghanaian actress and filmmaker Yvonne Nelson is preparing to dazzle audiences once again with her latest cinematic venture, “Tripping,” scheduled for release on March 29, Easter Friday at the Silverbird Cinemas.

Produced under the banners of YN Studios in association with Balance Studios, the film promises to deliver an enthralling narrative of adventure, mystery, and self-discovery.

The star-studded cast of “Tripping” features an array of talent, including Yvonne Nelson herself, alongside some industry veterans such as Irene Opare.

TikTok sensation Jackline Mensah, comedian Hogan, and “Yolo” star Delove Augustt, Solomon Fixon Owoo, Sena Fafali Ahiable, and Nigerian skit star Zic Saloma, had their chance to play captivating roles.

“Tripping” unfolds the story of Cole (Hogan), a wealthy heir disillusioned by the chaos surrounding his family’s fortune.

Seeking solace, Cole embarks on an expedition with three close companions, anticipating excitement and temporary respite. However, their journey takes an unexpected turn when they find themselves stranded at a crossroad, unsure of their next move.

As the group grapples with the challenges of their isolated predicament, they chance upon a mysterious hotel nestled across a river.

Their discovery marks a dramatic shift in fortunes as they uncover the hotel’s enigmatic secrets. Tensions mount as buried truths emerge, testing the limits of loyalty, friendship, and personal convictions among travellers.

Amidst the uncertainty, the hotel reveals unexpected secrets, each offering transformative healing beyond imagination.

As Cole and his companions navigate their new-found reality, they must confront inner demons and traverse the complexities of their journey.

Sarkodie storms Kumasi with Rapperholic on September 27

One of Ghana’s decorated rappers, Sarkodie, known in private life as Michael Owusu Addo will storm the Ashanti Regional capital with Rapperholic.

The Kumasi edition, which will be the first of its kind in the region, is expected to bring music lovers together for an unforgettable moment.

The programme is expected to take place at the Baba Yara sports stadium on September 27.

This was made known when Sarkodie paid courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

Addressing the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Sarkodie briefed the King on the event, which marks a significant milestone as the Rapperholic Concert moves to Kumasi for the first time.

He said, “12 years ago, I released an album called Rapperholic, and it has performed well. It was well received by many, so I institutionalised it as an annual celebration.”

“Three years after celebrating it in Kumasi, I am here to hold this year’s edition in Kumasi. I am here with my team to seek the blessings of His Majesty before announcing it,” he stated.

The Asantehene endorsed the programme and expressed interest in attending the concert, scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on September 27.

In response, the Asantehene advised the artist to avoid unhealthy competition in the music industry and encouraged him to remain humble.

“Don’t engage yourself in something that will create problems for the artiste. Focused on ventures that will propel the artiste. When honour comes, you will have your share,” Otumfuo added.

 Minister OJ to storm Kumasi with ‘Arise concert 2025’

 The city of Kumasi is about to witness a powerful wave of praise and worship as the anointed gospel singer, Mi­chael Oware Sakyi, known as Minister OJ, takes centre stage at Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC) Ayigya, on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

Themed ‘A Holy Storm of Praise, Power, and Glo­ry,’ it aims to bring people together in unity and faith, reminding the nation of God’s goodness in difficult times.

Leading the charge is Michael Oware Sakyi, one of Ghana’s most respected gospel ministers, known for his soul-stirring songs and deep messages of hope.

Speaking to The Spectator Agoro, he said the free concert promises to be more than just music; it is set to be a spiritual awakening and a Homecom­ing experience.

Other artiste joining him on stage will be seasoned gospel talents in­cluding Adom Kiki, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Mabel Okyere, Prophet Paa Boateng, among others.

“All artistes billed for the night car­ry a strong anointing and a message for the season. Their blend of music, prayer, and prophetic declarations are expected to draw worshippers from all corners of Kumasi and beyond” he added.

Minister OJ is celebrated for his hu­mility, inspirational songs, and prolific songwriting.

His songs include Abamu Awie, Obema W’aye Obi, Medo, W’adom Ebenezer and Ete Sen.
