We’ve been spared doom prophecies

Dear Editor,

The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akufo Dampare, should be commended for his warning to pastors whose prophecies fuel fear and panic in the country. Unlike other years where such restrictions were not outlined, December 31st night was known as ‘night of (doom) prophecies.’

Most of these prophecies were centered on deaths, accidents, pre-declaration of election results, among others by well known pastors. The target of these prophecies were mostly the celebrities as well as known leaders in the country.

On December 31, 2021, we heard nothing relative to such prophecies, although some prophecies were directed to another country not Ghana.

The warning issued by the IGP, indeed, put the so-called prophets in check and he must be applauded for that.

It is quite shocking how the said pastors were somehow working to please humankind instead of being moved by the spirit of God. The prophecies by some of them make people question whether they are truly men of God.
