The Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year award special to me – Kofi Kinaata

Ghanaian highlife musician, Kofi Kinaata has expressed appreciation to everyone who voted for him to win the Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year award at the just-ended Telecel Music Awards.

Heavyweights in the Ghanaian music industry and fans Saturday, June 1, gathered at the Grand Arena at the Accra International Conference Centre to celebrate musicians who have contributed their quota to the growth of music.

Musicians who have the big songs and made the most impact received awards for their exploits in the year under review.

Against this backdrop, Kofi Kinaata’s Effiakuma Love song was adjudged the best among all other songs on the night.

Reacting to this, the musician said the award was so special to him because it was the first time winning such an award.

Kofi Kinaata said he had won many awards, but not the Reggae Dancehall category, adding that it made the award special.

Additionally, he apologised for not showing up for the award, adding that he had to leave Accra for an event in Agona Swedru on the night.
