Pastor Love jailed 48 months

Pastor Hammond Love, has been sentenced to 48months in prison by an Accra Circuit Court for stealing a car.

In 2017, the Man of God faced legal action for selling a vehicle without the owner’s permission.

The prosecution stated that the complainant, Samuel Amankwah, imported a Toyota Highlander into the country in 2016 and asked Pastor Love to handle its clearance.

After the car was cleared, Amankwah instructed Pastor Love to sell it for fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) and deduct his clearance fees.

However, he later changed his mind, planning to arrive in Ghana in April 2017 to pay Pastor Love for the clearance.

Upon his arrival, Amankwah discovered that Pastor Love was unable to produce the car, despite multiple requests.

The complainant lodged a complaint with the Police and Pastor Love was arrested in May 2017.

During interrogation, convicted Pastor Love told the Police that he secured a loan of 40 thousand cedis with 20 percent interest to clear the vehicle and was accruing more interest, so he sold the vehicle at 80 thousand cedis without the consent of the owner and paid 70 thousand cedis to the loan company.

Meanwhile, Pastor Love was unable to lead the Police to the said loan company to verify the claim and could not also tell who bought the vehicle.

The Judge said the convict was dishonest to the Court.
