The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) last week organised a commemorative lecture in Accra as part of its 75th anniversary celebration.

It was on the theme ‘75 years of excellence in journalism: Honouring the past, embracing the present, and shaping the future.”

Addressing the gathering, the Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, urged media owners and managers to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into journalism practices in order to remain competitive in the digital age.

She said it was therefore important that media owners and managers invest in training programmes that would equip journalists with the necessary skills to leverage AI effectively in their work.

The President of the Association, Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, said the GJA had been at the forefront of the fight for Ghana’s independence and continues to defend media freedom and the welfare of journalists.
