Chiefs, people of Adamorobe picket at Roads Ministry over bad roads

The Chiefs and people of Adamorobe, in the Akwapem South Municipality of the Eastern Region, have protested at the Ministry of Roads and Highways in Accra over bad roads.

They are demanding urgent repairs to the 10km road that runs through their community to Aburi.

The protest today, September 30, 2024 followed unsuccessful attempts to get local authorities to address the poor road conditions.

Against this backdrop, the Adamorobe residents took their concerns to Accra, where they presented a petition to the Roads Ministry, for swift response.

An opinion leader in Adamorobe,Dr. Raymond Takyi, told the media that the nature of the road will have a major influence on the voting pattern in the December elections.

He said, “We have taken all necessary steps, even if it’s politically motivated, why do we vote? Why do we get leaders? Leaders are supposed to solve problems, if you are in a position and you are not solving problems, what do we do?.”

Mr.Takyi concluded that “That is the challenge we have in Ghana, we put incompetent people in positions. But honestly, this is not politically motivated.”
