Street Academy launches annual health walk

The 2025 edition of the Annual Health Walk of the Street Academy, a culture and sports organization in Accra was launched last Thursday.

Ataa Lartey, the Director of the Academy who launched the event said it would be held on Saturday, July 12 and would be under the theme ‘Empowering street children through healthy and wellness.’

This year’s event, he said would attract children from the academy and neigbouring communities like Osu and Ga Mashie areas as well as partners of the academy.

“We have a few corporate organisations that supports our activities. We expect to see quite a number of representatives from them like they do annually, Ataa Lartey told The Spectator.

As usual, the walk will start from the premises of the Accra Art Center at 7am and move through some principal streets of the capital to be followed by an aerobic session.

According to him, the aim of the annual event was to create awareness on the plight of the needy or street children in society.

He called for support from individuals and corporate entities to organize a successful event.
