 Street Academy 2025 health walk today

Hundreds of keep fit enthusiasts will hit the streets today in the 2025 edition of the annual Street Academy Health Walk.

It will be under the theme: ‘Empowering street children through health and wellness.’

This year’s edition, according to the Director of the Academy, Ataa Lartey, would have Mr Alfred Nii Ashie Kotey, the Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo Constituency as the special guest of honour.

He said there would be other high profile personalities including Mr Abraham Mensah and former International Boxing Federation (IBF) world champion, Joseph Agbeko.

“We are fortunate to have special guests like Alfred Nii Ashie Kotey, the MP of Odododiodoo to lead the street Academy 2025 Health Walk. Also, Joseph Agbeko a, former student of the academy and boxing world champion, Mr Abraham Mensah and the newly appointed Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Mr Andrew Nortey have all confirmed their participation,” he said.

According to him, the event has been scheduled to commence at 7am at the forecourt of the Accra Art Center which is directly opposite the National Lotteries Authority (NLA).

It would move through some principal streets of the capital and return to the starting point.

The Street Academy, a sports and cultural organization, launched this year’s edition on June 12.

He appealed to organisations to support the walk that will seek to create awareness and highlight the plight of the needy in society.
