Somaliland delegation delegation led by NCCE Ghana pays courtesy call on Speaker of Parliament
The Chairperson of the NCCE, Ma Kathleen Addy, led a delegation from Somaliland’s Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and Constitutional Affairs to pay a courtesy call on Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
The visit highlighted Somaliland’s interest in learning from Ghana’s civic education model, which has gained continental recognition. An MoU has been signed to support Somaliland in establishing its own civic education centre.
The Speaker reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote democracy, civic responsibility, and African unity.
Mr. Khadar Nur Abdi Buubaal, Director General of Somaliland’s Ministry of Parliamentary Relations and Constitutional Affairs, expressed deep appreciation to the Speaker for the warm reception, noting that Somaliland is eager to learn from Ghana’s democratic journey and institutional development as it works to establish its own civic education centre.
