SDA Church holds 4-day annual camp meeting in Koforidua
The Family Ministries and Ministerial Director of the South Ghana Union Conference (SGUC) of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, Pastor Nii Lante Thompson, has emphasised the need for Christians, especially SDA members to remain faithful and be steadfast as they await on the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He said this at the closing ceremony of a four-day annual camp meeting of the New Life District SDA Church at Koforidua on Saturday.
The conference, themed, ‘Called to be faithful: Commandments of God and faith of Jesus Christ’ drew members of the SDA Church across the Eastern Region.
Pastor Thompson explained that keeping God’s commandments could become a challenge through worldly influence, personal struggles and persecution, and daily choices accompanied by spiritual warfare.
He encouraged Christians not to fear adversities because their victory was already assured in Christ by God, but rather pray to avert the enemy’s attacks.
The Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III who was the guest of honour, commended the SDA Church for its contributions towards the development of education, health and the entire Koforidua community.
The Omanhene assured the church of his commitment and collaboration in building a moral and upright society for posterity.
The District Pastor, who is the Eastern Regional Manager for SDA schools, Pastor Osei Bonsu Sarpong urged members of the church to put into practice whatever they learnt at the meeting to help them wait for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
