Multiple award winning rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has admitted he was nervous during his Rapperholic Homecoming concert at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The rapper said the heavy rains that poured before the event scared him.
According him, he felt the show might not happen, especially because of the thousands of fans who had paid to attend.

“I was very scared, especially for the fans. I kept thinking about how they would feel if the show didn’t happen,” Sarkodie said.

He explained that it had rained the previous day and continued on the event day, falling on and off from morning until evening. Sarkodie said he prayed for the rain to stop before the performance.

According to him, he could feel how heavy the rain was on the roof while waiting indoors.

He revealed that he kept messaging his team members because he was more worried about the safety of the fans than the stage setup.

The rain forced some fans to run for cover, which caused a bit of confusion at the stadium, but Sarkodie said he was relieved that the concert still went on successfully.

Despite being one of Ghana’s most experienced performers, Sarkodie admitted he was very nervous that night but grateful that everything eventually worked out.
