Palestinian envoy calls on NTC management
The Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Palestine to Ghana, Mr Ahmed Abu Dalfa, on Monday paid a courtesy call on the management of New Times Corporation, publishers of The Ghanaian Times and The Spectator.
The two institutions discussed possible areas of collaboration to boost their respective operations.
Mr Abu Dalfa highlighted the important role the media plays in shaping public understanding and promoting peaceful relations among people across the world.
“The media has the power to build understanding among people; and partnerships with credible organisations like the New Times Corporation are very valuable,” he stressed.
According to him, many ordinary families in Gaza continue to face difficult humanitarian conditions, making it important for their stories to be shared responsibly and accurately.
Mr Abu Dalfa also commended the cordial relations between Ghana and Palestine, describing the friendship between the two countries as long-standing and warm.
The Chairperson of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the NTC, Dr Charity Binka, welcomed the team and expressed the corporation’s readiness to work with the Palestinian Embassy.
The Acting Editor of The Ghanaian Times newspaper, Mr David Adadevoh, called for stronger cooperation between Palestinian media institutions and the NTC to help provide readers with balanced and credible stories about developments in Palestine, especially in areas affected by conflict.
The Editor of The Spectator, Mrs Georgina Naa- Marku Quaittoo, said happenings in the region was unfortunate and hoped that fighting between Palestine and Israel will cease.
