My ministers will not be more than 50- Dr Bawumia 

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia has promised that his ministers to support his administration will not exceed 50.

He made the pledge when  speaking at NPP Manifesto launch in Takoradi on Sunday, August 18.According to him, efficient governance does not require a large number of ministers.

For this reason, he stated that “I will have no more than 50 ministers in my government.”

He also announced plans to shift from outright purchases to leasing essential goods, such as vehicles and printing equipment, to reduce maintenance costs and save the government significant amounts of money annually.

He was optimistic that this approach would not only reduce waste but also energize the private sector to invest in expansion and job creation.

“My government will move towards leasing rather than outright purchase of goods such as vehicles, printing equipment, and so on. The private sector will have the responsibility for maintaining the equipment. With this approach, the budget can save a very significant amount of outright cash expenditure annually from various items across the Ministries,” he disclosed.
