Addressing the gathering, President John Dramani Mahama highlighted Ghana’s peaceful coexistence, noting that Muslims and Christians celebrate each other’s holy days and participate in each other’s ceremonies, describing the nation’s diversity of faith and culture as a strength to be protected.

He urged citizens to be guided by compassion for the vulnerable, kindness towards neighbours, and integrity in their daily lives to drive national development.

At Kpone Katamanso, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Kpone Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA), Samuel T. Q. Morton, used the occasion to advise Muslims to educate their children beyond Makaranta level, Victor A. Buxton reports.

Addressing Muslims at the Kakasunaka Number 1 Community Park during Eid ul-Fitr prayers, the MCE said mostly, students enrolled on programmes with scanty employment avenues and end up at home unemployed.

The Chief Imam of KKMA, Alhaji Saeed Abdulai, stated that at the end of the Ramadan fasting, a committed and dedicated Muslim should have gone through religious and rigorous training and upliftment that would lead to a positive change in their lifestyle.

He cautioned against materialism, intolerance and other unethical behaviours being exhibited by Muslim youth which is against Islam.
