Let your ‘yes be yes and no be no’ -Christians told

‎‎Christians have been urged to live as true ambassadors of Christ by demonstrating integrity, godly character and commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ in a generation increasingly characterised by moral decadence.

‎Apostle Ebenezer Gyimah Odoom made the call at his ordination as an Apostle by the Worldwide Council of Clergy in collaboration with Redeeming Hope Christian Center on the theme “Reaching Out With the Gospel of Integrity,” based on Nehemiah 5:8-9.

‎He said integrity meant uncompromising commitment to the truth of the Word of God, urging Christians to let their “yes be yes and their no be no” in all their dealings.

‎‎According to him, Christians, particularly those in leadership and ministry, must avoid double standards and work with undivided hearts, consistency, love and the fear of God.

‎Apostle Odoom said integrity was essential to successful Christian ministry, stressing that ministers must remember that they were Christians before they were called into ministry.

‎He therefore urged Christian leaders to ensure that their character matched the message they preached, saying, “Preach Christ and not yourself,” and encouraged them to point people to Jesus through their words and actions.

‎He further urged ministers to live what they preached, preach with pure hearts and the power of God, and keep their promises.

‎‎Apostle Odoom cautioned Christians against following worldly practices simply because they were becoming popular, saying believers must not ignore the power of God.

‎‎He observed that many people who described themselves as Christians were living defeated lives because they had compromised their faith and were no longer fully committed to the principles of Christianity.

‎‎He encouraged Christians to remain faithful to God and become positive examples in society, particularly at a time when moral values were being challenged.

‎‎“As ambassadors of Christ and members of the Worldwide Council of Clergy, abide in the Lord and let His Word abide in you so that you will bear much fruit,” he said.

‎He said Christians could effectively reach others with the gospel when their lives reflected the values and character of Christ, urging believers to make integrity a daily way of life rather than merely a message they preached.
