La Dade-Kotopon MP donates sewing machines to La Presec

The Home Economics Department of the La Presbyterian Senior High School (La Presec), last Monday received 10 new sewing machines from the Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dade-Kotopon Constituency, Ms Rita Naa Dooley Sowah.
The machines, purchased from the MPs Common Fund, is to equip the department to train the students to actively participate in practical lessons.
Ms Sowah said the donation will assist students, especially those into sewing in order to enhance their skills in fashion design.
According to her, the presentation was to provide logistical support to enhance teaching and learning in schools under her jurisdiction.
Ms Sowah indicated that she had extended similar gestures to other schools in the Constituency and will continue to support them to assist the teachers to bring out the best from their students.
The MP advised the students to handle the machines with care, and pleaded with the school to adopt a good maintenance culture for the machines to stand the test of time.
Ms Irene Narloni, Head of Department (HOD), thanked the MP for her generosity and said it was timely as it coincide with preparation of final year students for their exams.
Ms Narloni further said the donation will help the school, especially her department and assured that the machines will be kept in good condition for other students to benefit from.
