Kafui Dey departs GBC after 4 years of successful service

Veteran journalist and celebrated morning show host, Kafui Dey, has officially announced his departure from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), bringing to a close four impactful years at the state media house.

Kafui Dey, who served as co-host of the widely-watched GTVBreakfast show, steps down from his role after joining the station on August 2, 2021.

His last day with the corporation is today, July 25, 2025.

Prior to joining GBC, Kafui Dey had already made a significant mark in Ghana’s media landscape having worked with e.TV Ghana, where he hosted The Late Nite Celebrity Show, and also served as a prominent host for Who Wants to Be Rich?, the Ghanaian version of the international game show.

His commanding presence, articulate delivery, and insightful interviews made him a household name across both radio and television platforms.

In a personal statement shared on July 24, 2025, he expressed deep appreciation to the leadership and team at GBC.

“I’m grateful to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the Director-General, my amazing co-presenters, producers, directors, crew, the social media team, and every single guest who shared our mornings” he emphatically stated.

He also asked for forgiveness for any wrongs committed knowingly or unknowingly during the discharge of his duties at GBC.

“To all who supported me, thank you. For the highs, the lows, and the memories, I’m truly thankful. If I ever offended anyone, please forgive me.” he pleaded.
