One of the donors going through the process
The Founder of 18Plus4NDC, a youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ms Bridget Bonnie and friends last Saturday turned out in their numbers for a blood donation exercise at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The lifesaving exercise, the fourth edition was to mark the young politician’s birthday.
Speaking to The Spectator during the exercise, Ms Bonnie said, the gesture would go a long way to save lives at the facility.
“People need blood for survival at hospitals across the country. Donating blood with my friends was our way to support the 37 Military Hospital in their quest to save lives,” she stated.
She added that, “it was heartwarming to see several healthy and vibrant youth coming around to donate blood to save lives.”
“This is one of the random gestures to show appreciation to God for sustaining my life over the years,” she explained.
Over the years, she said, the donation had become a regular activity on her birthday and looked forward to extend the gesture to other health facilities in the country.
