The President of the Tour Operators Union of Ghana, TOUGHA, Mrs.Alisa Osei Asamoah, has outlined some initiatives they have put in place to observe Heritage Month.

On Monday, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) at Labadi Beach Hotel launched the Heritage Month with a list of activities to celebrate the month by promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage.

Speaking to spectator.com.gh on the sidelines of the launch, Mrs.Asamoah said they have always partnered the GTA in selling various domestic destinations on the day.

She added that they have done the campaigns already by selling domestic tourist destinations.

According to her, this year, they are also targeting Ghanaians who have never visited some local tourist sites in their lives.

Interestingly, she revealed that, as part of their tours, they will go by the GTA slogans, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, Feel Ghana and Experience Ghana.

She revealed that these slogans have been incorporated into their tours, from dress code, food and music among other activities on the bus to various destinations.

“ We will also explain to them the benefits of eating some Ghanaian dishes and share our rich history among others with them,” she said.

She noted that as an association, they have spoken to various partners to ensure their rates are affordable for patrons.
